Following from the knife build here I bought a cheap sheath of eBay but it was far too bulky. As I had a bit of leather left over from a previous build and a plastic liner I thought I would have a more serious attempt at making a sheath. It's always been the bit I find most challenging, but having been given a sort of Acme leather sowing kit for Christmas I was running out of excuses. I can see already I didn't pull the thread consistently tightly so some it lays flat in some places but not in others. Although I am happy enough with the way it came out I would like to hear any tips and tricks from the more experienced knife makers on here.

I got fed up with wayward shots and put a sheet of 8x4 celotex around our board. Seemed completely ott but seeing the distance of the furthest holes from the board I am glad I did it now

Whatever you use ( I would use a long blade) water will help the cut. Just don't dip your jigsaw in a bucket of water and say someone on the internet said to do it though

That reminded me of this one, 1500 bhp 'bike' running nitro. You get no idea of the noise here even turned up loud, there is a reason they wear ear defenders - watch the crowd arround 50 secs

It's undoubtedly quick but you can't hear the engine over the straight cut gearbox

You can't quite beat a DFV Cosworth, I particularity like this clip as it is like a fish out water here, but still manages rev a bit

i was at Le Mans when the Mazda's were racing, so I have to agree with the OP This video makes you appreciate just how high they rev, be honest an say 'now' when you think it has topped out I also agree about Top Fuel/Funny Cars + the smell of course

For hunting knives I never use anything finer than a Lansky medium, as I feel that a very slightly ragged edge helps starting the cut through fur and skin. Do the folks who for the finely polished edge use those for hunting or more bushcraft type applications? just curious

Just watched both of this weekends Spirals then McMafia. It is almost unfair to make a comparison, one is real life, warts and all, the other is a visit to the waxworks, got to be the most wooden acting ever, surely? Still no mention of Death in Paradise

It's been overused for years now but the real question should be, do want to get married, or do you want to have a wedding? I went for the former, and have been happily married for over 25 years. Many marriages were based on the latter and never made it past 5.
