  1. Nice bag a good afternoon. Well done.
  2. Took dogs for a walk to see if we could get a pheasant Or 2 they flushed a cock that flew straight towards a farmhouse so had to let it go, a bit further on they flushed a second bird that I shot so a good start , no other birds flushed so decided to have a look further down the track as it's a mile from top to bottom of the lane. Looking over the stubble and could see a good lot of crows using it the came from a old rubbish dump that had been grassed over.set up on the railway bank on the upwind side , as soon as hide up and decoys out the crows begin to decoy the good wind helped to keep them moving the shooting was good and for once on crows I shot well having 5 doubles I ended up with 40 crows and 7 woodies and one good thing was every crow was carrion crow , no jackdaws or rooks so hope to have done some song birds a favour next spring.
  3. Memory to treasure well done to you both.one happy lad.
  4. Was out with yickdaz on one of my perms,we have shot the same barley stubble last Saturday and I shot it on my own Thursday we had 32 last sat.I got 37 Thursday to day after looking at other farms and stubble fields with no birds showing we decided to shoot the same stubble as a few birds were flighting over,we sat up near 2 oaks and deeks a long way out as brds were coming from our rear.we both shot some very good long birds that were very wary due to being shot over the same field for the 3rd time some of the birds we shot were on the limit of range and of coarse we missed a few but the enjoyment of having such good quality birds was fantastic .we did shot some over the deeks but most would not decoy so we had to take them as long crossers a good day and we picked 60 and lost 6 or 7.

  8. Thursday after getting a txt from farmer saying he had sown a late field of all crop for the cattle feed a friend and myself set up at 1 30 on a field but after about a hour a tractor came and started to role the field this disturbed the field but he was gone on to a second field after a half hour and birds started to come back we shot till 6 30 and picked 43 crows and 3 woodies Saturday on my own at At another small sown all crop field this time after feral pigeons as a near by farm a large number of ferals are always there eating the cattle food and corn out of the barn,so I took a double barrel 4.10 I put out 10 decoys and 4 crow deeks as a number of crows was flighting over it took me a few shots to get into the little gun but then I started to connect and was pleased with how well it killed with the 3 inch shells l shots me nice long birds and picked 34 ferals 4 crows 1 woodie so enjoyable days .

  18. Sunny and cold so decided to go and see if the dogs and myself could get a pheasant Or 2 , the first walk we flushed a cock bird that flew behind a oak Tree still leave on so not a safe shot as a house is the other side of the tree so off he flew. We then went to another farm that has a lot of rough on it going up the farm track seen a couple of pheasants on a grubbed up stubbleWalked them and one run in to a carrot field so walked it up and it got up a long range shot dropped it in a big patch of bracken pick.ed it and walked the rough scrub bracken and birch trees the dogs worked very hard as the frost has not flattened it yet, we flushed the first woodcock as on as we got in the rough shot it and picked it, after a good bit of work the dogs put up another bird shot that as well but it was very hard for the dogs to find as we looked another bird got up and was shot so 4 shots a pheasant anD 3 woodcocks.all picked so a happy shooter and 2 tired but happy dogs.as I was leaving the farm I counted 19 wild pheasants on the fields so still some sport to come also only walked a small piece of the rough so more woodcock as well.
