  3. Good shot?

    B&Q

Yes in Frith street,WIgan. Google is your friend Edit, just too late.
  4. Good advice but think about emailing them and ask, then you have their answer on file for the future.
  5. That's the point', cut to 16" and threaded for moderator there will be no noticeable difference in accuracy etc but will be easier to handle and carry in the field etc.
  6. As a young lad in the TA I fired anti aircraft guns at wind socks towed overhead by planes at Manorbier. Long time ago now but would love another go. Distant memory so cannot remember much about the guns/calibre but vivid memories of the action.
  7. I feel sure that an awful lot of PW shotgun and Fac holders will have, it seems broken 'this ruling' including me several times. Just allow common sense to come into play and if a mate etc is interested enough to try out your gun/rifle in your company and on land that you have permission to be on, he can then apply for is own cert if he enjoys it, isn't that how a lot of us got into the sport. As long as the other party is not banned from doing so,I see no problem and will continue to 'take my chance' knowing the vagaries of the answers to the question.
  8. I was asked to specify the calibre I wanted & went for .22.
  9. There are no stupid questions and yes you do need suitable land to have Fac air rifle, unlike sub 12 ft/lbs air rifles.I would apply for 22lr ,17hmr and .22 Fac air rifle and include moderators with each. You don't need to buy each rifle but it costs no more to have on your licence.Maybe do a land check with Feo on your permission first to see if has already been checked & what it is passed for.
  10. As earlier post, email (best because you get an email reply) or ring north wales office and ask what calibre your land is already passed for.All being well you will be good to go. I have emailed other area feo's for the same reason and got a reply within 24 hours.
  11. You need to test pattern your chosen cartridge in order to find out for yourself, no one else can tell you what your asking.
  12. Simple answer, ring licensing tell them what you applied for and get confirmation from them what has been allowed and arrange for licence to be corrected.
  13. I would ring or email north wales FEO directly and ask if land has been checked already and for what calibre. Unless you already know no land check has ever been done.I am in Merseyside but have emailed other areas directly and got a favourable reply within 24 hours.
  14. Tell your manager to stuff his job (great experience) and work your notice then enjoy your early retirement on less income. I think you may find you can manage on a lot less. That is almost exactly what I did and went two years with only my wife's part time income coming in before my state pension kicked in.Now both retired and with minimum income but loving retirement having had my fill of work over my lifetime.Certainly don't' expect the state to subsidise an early retirement. It's true that money is not everything.
  15. I have had one in a thousand hornady rounds do this, only the primer had fired and sent the round 1 inch up the barrel, the lack of sufficient 'bang' and not seeing or hearing the impact alerted me and my mate to the mishap and averted an accident.I have always been alert to something like this happening whatever rounds I use and in whatever rifle.Every round I fire I look for the impact of the round, if I don't see an impact for whatever reason I check bore is clear before reloading another round, it normal practice for me, before and after the first and only time it has happened.
  16. It is the link piece that operates one of the sears on the selector mechanism IMO.( may have used wrong terminology as I don,t have parts diagram to hand)Take stock off and check operation.
  17. Armeria sport guns (Spain) will supply all spare parts and will email a parts breakdown if you need it.Problem could be internal on selector mechanism and not firing pin.I have spoken with them recently but not dealt with them as yet.
  18. If the land is already passed for your calibre your 'good to go'.
  19. I have a Fabia 1.9 diesel VRS (2005 plate) and had it for 7 years.I cannot fault it to date.It isn't quick off the mark but will catch pigeons in third gear assuming I can find one currently.Service it every year and not a single problem to date. Trip computer registered 65 mpg over a 55 mile round trip the other day so quite frugal if driven with care. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Skoda cars with my experience of this one.
  20. Up to three / four weeks ago had literally thousands of woodpigeon doing the same around one of my permissions.Lofting decoys was the only thing that brought me a bit of good sport. Make the most of it.
  21. Thats a cracking video, good find.
  22. if 12 balls of lead are taken from 1lb of lead each ball would equal the bore of a 12g shotgun. Likewise 4 balls for 4 bore, 20 for 20 bore etc. (just too late )
