  1. I too like Chris Evans, he used to be a complete tool, fortunately he's grown up. Richard Branson, as someone else said (Ack-Ack I think), he know's what he is and doesn't try to be anything more...with his dough he doesn't need to though. Dame Helen Mirren, classy lady, same goes for Judy Dench. Both at the top of their field as well Sir Steve Redgrave, met him, nice guy and down to earth with it. Chris Eubank, bound to be a contentious one, but, I've met him a few times and he is as you see him on telly etc, ALL airs and graces , however, he has been friendly, chatty, approachable and genuine all the time I've been with him and that includes leaning on the railings at Hove Promenade chatting to the lads fishing on the beach.
  2. Alan Carr Miranda Hart Patsy Palmer Barbara Windsor With the above it's not what they look like, or what they do...it's what they SOUND like, worse than nails across a blackboard to me! As for disliked people for what they are; Jordan - Nasty, vindictive, slag. EVERYTHING is about money and image. Ed Milliband - Don't like how he looks or sounds and suspect he's thoroughly conceited and up himself! Micheal Portillo - Self serving slimeball George Bush - How such a thick man ended up with so much power and allowed himself to be so manipulated beggars belief. Frankie Boyle - utterly unfunny and deep down he knows it so goes for the shock factor.
  3. I can understand where you're coming from with regard to clamping it, and indeed with a PCP I'd be quite happy to do that, but... ...it's a springer, and allowing for the recoil is part of shooting it and to do so consistently is surely the point? The thing is, you could zero it in a clamp, but when you come to shoot it you will almost certainly find that you are not 'on target'. I have to say that I would zero it as I would shoot it, and in my case that would probably be off a rest. I don't agree with it needing rezeroing for different positions, if you are consistent in your grip then it should remain consistently accurate.
  4. I'm looking for opinions from people who have used any of the guns in the title or preferably all! It's going to be in .177, will be used primarily for hunting rabbit, pigeon and rats but may do the odd bit of HFT. I have owned an S400 and a S510 but had to sell, great guns, really accurate but it must be a multishot this time. Thoughts and opinions please.
  5. Can only think that you'd combine it into a bread paste....why that would be especially good on Trout I have no eye deer!
  6. Just trying to watch that has made me feel nauseous, not the content, the bloody camera jiggling all over the place!
  7. Personally I'd put a paper target with a safe backstop out at 30 yards. Draw a cross on it and then try and shoot the centre of the cross. Put a few pellets into it (at least 10) and if they are all similarly off target then you can start to adjust the scope turrets. Keep shooting and adjusting until you are hitting what you shoot at. Remember to keep a light grip on the rifle to allow it to recoil naturally and consistently. If they are all around the target inconsistently then you may need to clean the barrel, check the scope is correctly and tightly mounted or it may be your technique. The first and second being easier sorted than the last!
  8. Wet and windy here, time to go 'fowling then. ****! I can't, still only a probationary member!!!
  9. Well yes, normally I'd agree that 'weed', in the modern day vernacular, would indeed refer to Cannabis. However, the tone of the OP's initial post does seem to refer to general smoking rather than recreational drug taking, does it not?
  10. For what you'll pay for the Webley you'd get a 2nd hand Air Arms S200/400, either of which are , in my opinion, more of a gun and likely to outlast the Webley even if they are bought 2nd hand.
  11. I love Marmite...not sure about this though, not been brave enough to try it yet! Do you normally store in the fridge...it's viscosity is temperature led?
  12. Not the most Festive of posts is it! Give up if you can, when it suits you, all the bullying in the world won't make you stop. Happy Christmas to you all.
  13. I went out shooting clays couple of days ago and while I was out, my Thai got into the Christmas Spirit...with a little help from our 12 year old!
  14. Mine jammed up when one of the stocks moved up tight against the back of the lock, pushing very hard against the key (into the lock) then twisting it got it moving. Worth a go.
  15. Cheers guys, will be getting her up to the vet in the next day or so, give them their due, they are really good...know how to charge though! Thank God for pet insurance!! I'm sure we'll get it sorted.
  16. Cool, ok, at least it's potentially manageable, I'll book an appointment, Thanks.
  17. Have just edited the post to say that these episodes are over an 18 month period rather than all recently. I did say that the major concern is an attack in the harbour water although she regularly swims and not been a problem thus far. She went to the vets after the first but they didn't seem too concerned, it was a kind of 'labs are prone to them, see how she gets on, so long as they aren't happening all the time it's not so bad' attitude.
  18. I have a four year old Chocolate Lab who is a great retriever, we have been starting training which has been progressing pretty well, all looked promising until she had another seizure last night. This is now the third over the last 18 months or so, so they're not exactly common but...it's got me worried. They are not full on fits, they are more of a seizure, she will go completely rigid but does seem to still be aware of what's going on and never loses consciousness, she will as I say just go completely tense and voids both her bladder and bowels involuntarily. The attacks have so far taken a two part form, she will have the initial attack and then a couple of minutes after she seems to be coming round she has a second milder dose. The first one occurred after being startled out of sleep and whacking herself on a cupboard as she tried to jump up, the second she collided head on with our other dog, he's twice her size so she just kinda clattered to a stop. Last nights I don't know what happened but, she would probably have been asleep again before the attack. I have now decided that we definitely won't breed from her, and I'm concerned about taking her 'fowling next year. I'm worried that the 'shock' of hitting the cold water or something else may set her off ... which would be a bad thing, especially in the middle of a freezing harbour! I am vaguely aiming this at Apache and any other vets that may be on here, although anyone else with any relevant experience or advice would be interesting.
  19. Got to agree with most of the points above, I have a SWB. They are brilliant but thirsty, however, they run on up to 95% veg oil with very few additions. If you use shop bought oil then there is no preparation, just cut it with some diesel/petrol upping the mix if it gets really cold, for best results fit a heat exchanger to pre heat the oil, once again, cheaply done, if you DIY it, well under £100. You're then paying in the region of £1-1.10 a litre. If you are happy to do a little more work then waste veg oil will get the cost down to circa 60p a litre. It needs, filtering and heating, that's all. At 60p a litre then 20-25mpg is relatively immaterial!
  20. Too blingy for my liking, I like Daystates but less keen on that....although the woodwork is lush!
  21. Depends what you want it for. General web surfing, then 10 meg is plenty IMO, however if you want online gaming or big downloads then the faster the better. I run Virgins 50meg service and it's plenty fast enough for my needs, the boys game, I surf we have no problems. Apparently I can download full movies in under 7 minutes, or so I'm told.
