  1. My go to is Armalon Remmi 700 tried loads of .308s at the range but bought this and never regretted it this is a keeper as I'm a leftie and this is left handed.
  2. Did you use your employer as a referee
  3. The only time I had any dealings with them was many years ago when they had the shop in Ringwood as well then, went in to get some cartridges and was talking to the gunsmith about a Greener GP he said nice shotgun but overpriced for what it was. Never did buy one shame as once they left the shop after that went down hill and still no where as good now as it was then.
  4. I believe mine was more like nine months from putting form in to it dropping though the letter box. Well done to you and a quicker Firearms dept than mine.
  5. I was told the same as Ozzy said when I was waiting for my FAC to come back as I had a shotgun cert already and the firearms officer took my shotgun cert awaiting a co-min cert (I was not happy about it but wanted my FAC) and he stated my shotgun cert was still live until new cert issued and if stopped the officer was able to access all my details asap and therefore not a problem providing I had not committed an offence. Only down side unable to buy cartridges there answer get a good friend with cert to buy them for me.
  6. Having been brought up in a bungalow that was built in a brick field there was a high bank at end of long garden so a air rifle range ready made. So from a early age (7/8 yrs) I have had a air rifle (still have my .22 webley falcon) . At 16 got my 1st shotgun and shotgun cert, spent many years rough shooting which I enjoyed most of all. Once married and with children wife not happy about guns so left them in cabinet cleaning them when everybody out. Youngest turns 18, oldest lad wanted to try clay pigeon which I arranged at local rifle club both of us had a great time I missed every thing after 20 + year break, eldest had some coaching from club sec and started hitting right and left, he was hooked then youngest gets the bug and all 3 of us join rifle club I got my FAC now as well and both sons will soon be full members. Happy time are here again 58 yrs old and shooting rifles minimum 3 times a month.
  7. Check to see what they do as a lot of cheapie ones only read engine faults, air bag and abs are different kettle of fish.
  8. Why not phone Hampshire Firearms Dept tell them what you said here and do say about your brother as someone at same address can muck up application. I am in Hampshire and I have asked questions and got answers but be warned they do take forever to sort out a FAC.
  9. What ever you think is enough go bigger much bigger as you will always run out of room trust me as stated before scopes on rifles take up more space than you think.
  10. My local club (on south coast) has visitor days limited to 12 days a year by law after late if you wish to join you are a probationary member for a period of not less than 3 months and completed 10 supervised shooting visits which is recorded. Then after 10 visits completed your card goes before the commititee to be reviewed and if all ok you will be a full member. Bear in mind that before becoming probationary member there police checks so be prepared for a wait. Once full member you can apply for FAC and only calibers that can be used on club ranges eg if indoor small bore .22 etc. It is not a 2 minute job more like a year if you are lucky.
  11. So how did FEO meeting go today all sorted
  12. Well I did and there's room for 2 rifles at moment and then my ticket will be full.
  13. Well made gun cabinet and at your price a bargain, I have a 7 gun extra deep very pleased with it.
  14. My employer has that problem he has FAC/shotgun cert his wife has only shotgun cert so the FAC's have a cable lock though them so that his wife unable to access the rifles as they only have one cabinet, not sure about ammo that might be locked in separate safe as shotgun ammo is OK in safe out of sight storage.
  15. Just a quick question does your good lady ever make leather bolt carrier/holder. If so I might be interested in one for Remington .308. Regards John
  16. I live in Hampshire. Which I believed is one of the worst county's to have to wait but I'm afraid it seems it is not alone. But I did finally get my FAC/shotgun cert but I do know what you are going though. Rifle club chairman said you should not of surrendered your shotgun cert and I reply if I do not comply to police officer request would it effect my FAC application. Hope it sorted quickly for you.
  17. Bargain I got a 7 gun and they are well made
  18. Please let me know how it goes on Monday as this is not a run of the mill topic and to hear other FEO theorys might be good to know in advance if my son's have problems. Also hows this for advice by FEO when I applied for my FAC I already had a shotgun cert so went for a combine FAC/shotgun cert. Had interview with the local FEO who I met once before and found him very helpful and all hunky dory showed him cabinets, ammo safe all passed ok and was told certificate will be sent out in 2-3 weeks and I want your shotgun cert as you getting a new one (not happy giving shotgun cert up but wanted my FAC). After 2 months waiting asked main firearms dept if all ok as not seen any thing as yet and got told all's fine short handed due to illness within the firearms dept if you have nothing in 3 weeks ring and enquire which I had to do and was told leave it with me I phone you back when I get answer from person dealing with your application (to be fair she was good to her word and phoned back 2 hours later) was told my form was on her desk to be processed the following week to which I said thank you for your help. 3 weeks later no FAC so phone them up get told we been very busy and you phoned 3 weeks ago to which I told them that I was told it was being processed after my last phone call and was there a problem as no Fac had arrived. Then get told that they had only just been introduced to the dept and had not done grants as yet. I explained that my shotgun cert had been taken by loacal FEO and was told no problem as your old cert still active I then said I had been invited to a clay shoot but needed cartridges and need cert to buy them his answer was get a good friend to buy them for me. I almost lost my temper but stayed calm in all it took 6 + months to get a FAC granted.
  19. Well I have asked this question to Hampshire Police regarding my two sons having my rifles on there ticket and they said its fine to have them as shared guns no problem even though one son works in London he would apply to Met police and they liase with Hampshire regarding the storage of rifles etc second son at uni so classed as still at home so would send forms to Hampshire. Not sure if its not family members but just ask your firearms dept I'm sure they be understanding and you get an answer how or what to do.
  20. I have a batch of 600 of which I have used around a 100 ish so far no problems here.
  21. I reload and find it relaxing and fun and as stated it can work out cheaper as for equipment another supplier to look at is CDSG found them very helpful and will do a deal as well if buying a package or look for 2nd hand and buy dies etc.
