I smashed my ankle up very bad 6 years ago in Southampton General hos they wrote in large black felt tip pen this ankle with a arrow pointing to it, odd as I had a slip cast on ankle for temp protection on it. Op went ok the best bit was a year later went back for final check up went to x-ray and they said right ankle I said no left no they said right then I said I know which ankle I smashed as I have the swelling still and the scars. Then they said are you sure I said yes as I can set metal detector off with it to which they said oh no you havn't got metal in it still have you to which I said yes or it will just break again. So what I am saying is the service is great its just they dont seem to check enough or as I was taught measure twice. check twice and cut once.

Please could l have pics of both ear defenders so that I can see which I prefer. Regards John

Reading this thread I use to be in electrical contracting until the slump in 90s and left the trade reminded me of 2 cases one being the coil going in a cylinder but discounted this as the water out of hot taps would be coloured and then once I read about the leak I remembered a case were the pipe work was installed and the plummer missed some joints when soldering up joints and it held for a while with the flux and was concreted in and then a few weeks later started to leak slightly and as time passed it got worst. Well found thar man.

My employer done the letter but they just put you back in and then you get called out later and they dont give up, a doctors letter stateing that you suffer from cramp and unable to sit in one place for long periods as you need to walk around ever 30 minutes might do the trick, or an over active bladder might do it. When I was doing jury service one case was local and I knew a witness and a relative of the accused I was told to leave the court area as I was a infected juryer.

At a gun club I go to a son of a member shoots a single .410 folding poacher hammer gun and he does hit some clays and he must only be 8 or 9 at most. Wait til he gets older he be a cracking shot.

I have had worse than that after full sinus surgery I had to go back to consultant every month for a clean out which entailed removing pylops, **** and infections under a local with a small endyscope he said sorry before he pulled each item out. Never felt pain like it had blood flowing down the back of my throat said about it he said no problem I remove that (thinking he put tube in my mouth down thoat) he pushed the endyscope right up nose then down to my throat I never forget that pain after he finished he use to pump cream in to nasal cavity fine then hour later I had this fowl tasting cream dropping into my throat that was soaked in blood. That went on for 3 months then it went to every 3 months then with 2 clear visits he said thats good you doing as I tell you I not need to see you again and that was 4 yrs ago and I still flush my sinus twice a day and them apply medication as instructed and no problems since have been to my doc so he can check and all clear.

Good luck as I have old 12oz estwing leather grip hammer had it since the early 80s its now got insulation tape wrapped around the leather grip so that it does not come apart. I too would like to regrip it as its great hammer for clipping cables back (not to heavy). I have a rubber grip estwing 20oz as well but I did like the light weight for some jobs.

My late uncle use to make firing pins up on this lathe, he use to use steel then case harden them 3 or 4 times (ever time you case harden it gets deeper in the metal) and he never had any problems. I will be interested to see if yours are too brittle being so hard if they snap perhaps look at case harding some steel ones and then report back. Hope this does help if yours snap when you use them.

I use to use linklyfe but make sure the tin not got a leak I heated one lot up on kitchen cooker and when it melted it run on to the heating ring (my mother banned any bike work from kitchen) did that stink or what. But it did do a good job.
