Tame foxes are giving me the run around. Tree nicely bated and Sunday night nothing. Last night spot one in top field mooching about. Try my latest mouth caller and in he trots. At last I am a true fox hunter calling them in at will He gets to the gate to my field (its open) and turns right along the hedge line and disappears I cant see so far to my left as the window is in the way. 15 mins later my front house lights come on and he is in the front garden. I wait another 30 mins but no show. More of the bait missing this morning. Try again tonight.

Retailer's never pass on their profits.?? They do to shareholders I here from the Brexit negotiators that a Pork carcass has at least 30+ different tariffs to be applied under WTO rules. We could be eating more of our own meat very soon.

Interesting that the Swiss have put significant resources here to circumvent EU financial services controls. UK has played a major part for the EU in setting rules and has supported blocking the Swiss. Now the boot will be on the other foot lol. Britain’s trade surplus in financial services of £63bn in 2015, was more than the combined surpluses of the next three leading countries (US, Switzerland and Luxembourg). This paper from Kent Uni is interesting.

Absolutely right. Protectionist closed border policies prior to German and then Indian ownership. Countries like Japan thrive on bringing home the cash from international investment. Tata looks (from the outside) to be doing a great job. The new Defender to be made in SK is part of that currency protection, low labour rate hunt that underpins successful business whilst exploiting the British brand values.

I am retired. It's not a case of being prepared to work for next to nothing its a realisation that we cannot sustain the standards that the UK has been used too. We are being gradually unpicked by nations in growth mode. Only those able to adapt, retrain ride on a wave of knowledge will prosper. For the rest (majority) I suspect a general relative decline. History suggests the same, Persia (Iran) Turkey, Greece, Italy and so on.

I was there with you. Great video thanks for taking the time to make and share.

Is that how much it is now? We pay £64 on renewal this year as a club.

Our standard of living (4 worlds) is so high that we like the US rely on exploiting the rest of the world to maintain our standard. All great empires rise and fall of the back of those weaker than themselves. We are now seeing a leveling of the playing field as the poor nations get richer and the richer get poorer.

Much of Detroit is hollowed out following riots in the past. Much of the centre has now been rebuilt leaving large areas of derelict housing. I once drove my 4x4 into the abandoned railway station and it was like driving into a scene from the end of world.Trying to keep business in the US played a large part in its demise. Globalisation in the car industry, led by the japanese showed how to protect against labour and currency rates, as well as building on cultural values of cars. Coventry is my home town and the demise of the leyland and jaguar land rover brands is another example of protectionist policies in manufacture and union control that undermine competitiveness. Now Tata, BMW (engines and mini) Honda and Nissan have demonstrated how a global approach to manufacturing can work. In a former life I went many times to Detroit and Toledo selling UK companies (from the Black country) that were good at what they made but poorly financed and marketed and too small to compete. As part of larger companies many of these sales have been saved and are now at the top of their game in world markets. We hold back globalisation, speed of connection, the movement of currency and labour at the expense of our competitive edge. Inviting a declining living standard and a marginalisation of our country.

Just watched the video and bought 10 to see how they go.

+1 ^^ You sold them voluntarily at a price you were happy with, there is nothing in writing from the FAO. Can't see you have anywhere to go, with this. Start with BASC.

Sorry to hear that. It happened with my mates rifle recently but managed to catch it before it hit the ground. I bought one of these in plain black and got them to fit a belt adjuster but also to fit double chicago studs to hold it, as I was concerned abut loosing it at some point. Quality is excellent.

Is it ok to walk around the field with your gun?
oowee replied to flashybike1's topic in Talk From The Field
Enjoy your permission. and to PW. You may find this note on shooting and rights of way from BASC helpful. This article also which highlights issues of game landing over boundaries. -
Oy this isn't a land rover rebuilding thread I am somewhere over your way to Cardiff and then the King Arthur in Reynoldston in May. Out today on the deer. Saw 10 but came home without firing a shot Good learning and spotted a Muntjac Out on the foxes tonight and I have a banker here. Expecting the RSPCA drop off later.

Do you have to retake your test?

Oooops Dougy ........ still you were on him and he will be back . Strange but i heard the same noise a few nights back Mike you did well to track him and find him over a couple of fields well done. Lucky you didn't take a girly rifle with you, you might still be looking. Bumpy always amazes me that he knows where to find anything that runs on, not easy in the dark. RS that thermal sounds just what I need . I like the idea of being able to see stuff out at distance and watching it work the field. Must get that lottery ticket I have seen a number of small thermal systems the size of a mobile phone and one that goes onto a phone. Not sure they would be upto much but will take a look at the game fair. Being new to all of this I still have lots of other stuff get I want to get, rifle, scope and mod in Feb, caller, quad sticks etc etc
