  1. Impressed to see you working today pretty drastic stuff there too. I wish i had a garage that i could get to to get away from my family
  2. After earlier recon trip we were out fri night over half a dozen farms making it a late night. My mum is over for Christmas so any excuse to get out of the way is good by me . Third farm of the night saw me struggling to open the field gate in the dark and rattling it open as we parked in the field. Despite all the racket we were making the usual hushed voices were in use when Bumpy spots a target 150 m at the bottom of the field under the hedge. Suddenly more aware of the noise we were making it was out with the sticks, unzip the rifle and get set up. Larger squeaks got his attention and he trotted over to the far hedge and then slowly in our direction. Smaller mouse squeaks and he warily trotted in to maybe 50-60m and the hmr let go. The shot was a little low and he ran on a few yards before dropping at the corner of the field. First one to the new Weihrauch. Quickly followed by a rabbit to complete the pose below.
  3. Just bought a thou clear pigeon up 20%, 400 hmr at old price but new stock up 30% and some .243 federal up 40%.
  4. Not much notice. never good but every cloud.

    Bird flu

Getting close to me. I kept my chickens in but they were pretty miserable so let them back out.
  6. better out the way well done. Have not seen one since I was last paddling on the weir at Stratford some 20 years ago. Just back from a night on the foxes (rabbits and hares ) more to post in the morning.
  7. At least you guys have some to take a picture off (even without the studio posing) Out last night on first farm, despite farmer claims of an infestation, foxes must have been out on their christmas party. Zilch so off to farm 2. Parked up and walked up the track and drew one down from the hill within 10 mins. Stopped it at about 40 yds to find that someone had not chambered a round . Fox dipped into the hedge doing a ninja move to dodge the BB's sent in his direction. Back to the farm we started on and one fox was back but refused to co-operate and come out of the orchard into the field we were in. Tried to get into a shootable spot but fox dodged around the trees easily in shotgun range which was back in the truck ( ). Staying out of range but watching us from in the trees we climbed into the orchard. It was still in play. try as we might we could not get it in or get a safe shot of at it and it played with us for maybe 20 mins around the trees before disappearing. Merry Christmas to you all.
  8. Get some scales? No maths required
  9. Precisely. I would not do that job for twice the money. Not many jobs were you can be sacked on the spot, deselected, boundary change, let alone all the public heartache that goes with it.

    News

What a strange strange place some of us live in . The news is out there for those that want it, more so today with social media. The difficulty is the volume and complexity. We all want to blame the baddies be they the EU, the BBC the other side those that we don't know. The world is complex and not the black and white simplistic place some of us hope for.
  11. Funny enough I had the same thing with my ticket from Avon and Som and had to send over my original after first sending a copy. They, unfortunately were not so quick.
  12. Excellent job there boys and hopefully in time for breakfast.
  13. I have one its a bit of fun. Asking her if she has gas or looking for love makes me jokes are a bit cringe worthy. Good sound, but frustrating with some of the spotify interpretations. Wont control my windows or Musso sound system.
  14. I went this year (Bloomfontein) and booked again for next year (Kimberley). Its excellent and good value. No jet lag. Staying on farms shooting geese ducks and pigeon. Pigeon numbers are not on the Argentine scale but still several thousand at a time and very difficult. Geese are superb (large Spurwing and Egyptian) with some walked up franklin, quail and other stuff. Taking a hmr for a bit of rifle shooting in down time.
  15. Not heard of these (Flugz) before, they look pretty good. I may have to get some.
  16. I took my sight off and shoot just by looking at the bird. In Africa we were shooting duck in total darkness against the sky. If the mount is correct you don't need a sight.
  17. Keeps them in a job. Money management is a job same as any other. Missing the point. Some small pension investors have done very well. The hard part is doing well in the real world. Easy to be £ rich and world value poor. Not a problem if you only live and spend in the UK. Good move i think if you know what you are doing. Wine, stamps, coin and arts(guns?) all good choices for those that know.
  18. Dougy is on the right lines me thinks. That picture foxhunter looks like a shot from Country Life. Lighting is just about perfect you can even see the sprinkle of green leaves added for contrast. Puts my shoddy effort, lit with the lamp and taken on a phone, to shame. But I have an idea next one in will be better.
  19. Fair play to the seller. Unfortunate but hopefully it's all sorted. Was it a new scope?
  20. Any if it's sub sonic it's not important. My 40ftlb is the same as my sub 12 both with basic mods.
