  1. Good work finding them. Good effort on getting out and 30 in the conditions is great. I stayed in with man flu
  2. Good work RS. I can only imagine how cold it was at the top of the hill. Pics are great. How far can you pick them up with the thermal and how far can you positively identify them? Out with Bumpy last night and rocked up at a house in the middle of nowhere to shoot in the back garden. Hill top location and fantastic views of Weston in the back ground. Caller set and 12g at the ready. Called for 15 mins or so and one was spotted briefly in the undergrowth but no joy. Off to a nearby pig farm and spotted one at about 150m. called it in as no shot to the edge of the field but we needed some more back stop. A bit further and it was under the horizon and bumpy had it with his girly gun (HMR). One in the bib high shoulders and it dropped on the spot. We seriously have to look at the quality of our pictures more than a little shown up by pictures from the western border country Looked at a couple of other places too and saw eyes but nothing we could get a shot off at. Glad to be done by 2300 to get back and nurse my serious man flu. Should be a lot better by friday when we are out on the deer.
  3. Ambushed another at 2150 on the bait tree at about 60m with the girly gun Strangely by the morning it looks quite flat, hopefully the tyre marks are not visible on this side
  4. SG is nearly 9mm pellet more time to think of that back stop. BB;s are good for me.
  5. These video's are not so easy. Thx for making the effort looks like a great day out. Something on tonight about declining woodcock over here.

me too will look with a fork in the morning.
  7. Talking about what you read Watched an interesting interview with Thomas Friedman about his book 'Thank you For Being Late' A discussion of the forces of change in the world. The ever increasing speed of change and inability of many to keep up, seeking to blame a dystopian world for their own failings. Suggesting the Trump and Brexit phenomena are a reflection of a desire to try to stop or slow the pace of change. Worth a read.
  8. Worth staying out in the cold Tonker, nice one. We had a few rabbits before fog stopped play came home and did not bother with the NV for the foxes. Out again Wed night I think its a shotgun job. No offence Mike i have to learn to shoot it properly before I get onto the real deal.
  9. There a bit posh over the border even if they dont have many kids. Just looked up drone pro crikey!!! Out tonight on rabbits with Bumpy apparently he has found the mother lode. Might try my girly rifle in the garden when I get back

same here. Thought II better learn how to do it when the neighbour says kill one and two will come to funeral. I have tried 12g, traps and now have resorted to putting ash from log burner on the mounds,,,,,,,,,,,,,, who knows but keep trying. Only got two so far (I think) and jumped on them as i saw them move.
  11. I love dogs too. Happy to report it straight away get the things put down.
  12. Did you say thermal? I wear a few but shooting with one is a bit sneaky Paid off by the looks. Just been out and bagged a partridge and pheasant. More bait for the garden.
  13. I was using them in my CZ out to 80m on fox but accuracy starts to suffer beyond this. I think anyone that is good with subs and ranging would prefer to use subs and would see no advantage in the HV and plentyof downside with the noise. I am now using HMR and where the .22 would go straight through the HMR seems to vapourise in the chest and rarely exit. I also find the HMR much easier to shoot accurately.
  14. We did many self build in MK (code level 3). Not as simple as it sounds. You have to give assurance to new buyers that they are buying into a known space and that fred smith wont build something horrible next door. You need a design guide and a way to enforce it (difficult and high litigation risk). You would have to manage competing access arrangements for contractors. There are big savings on infrastructure so you might want to pre plan this. Eco (passive house) might be part of the unlocking tactics for PP. If it were me I would look to max out the return and get myself something elsewhere. Even if I liked my ten acres now I doubt I would when neighbour's arrived.
  15. Some time in Feb its been a long 3 months.
  16. Yes but different areas of risk from housing. My Thinking. UK is small so building big sheds is getting harder and with internet shopping we will need a lot more. NHS is a given on long leases. Up market student housing is a good punt if you dont have to deal with it.
  17. For me a lot of these so called carry all bags are very poorly designed. OK if you shoot once every couple of weeks or so they will last a while. Very few of the bags can be filled and then slid across the floor of a truck without cutting through the material. Whilst JP stuff is normally pretty good, when i see an elastic cartridge holder on the outside of a carry all, I think 'Please' who designs this **** your having a laugh. 600D Cordura is good but it looks like this is only on the straps. If it were me I would look for a heavy canvas ex army holdall. I got mine from Kevin Endicott in exceter who will customise bags for not a lot. I think I paid £17. Used at least twice a week for 4 years and still good.
  18. Very nice indeed. I need one of those stock covers
  19. I would spread some on large warehouse units, doctors surgeries and student housing. Take a look at Tritax big Box, Primary Health Properties and Empiric Student Properties. All REIT's with a decent return and capital growth.
  20. I don't talk about those. we had one following us over a couple of fields the other night.
  21. Another one last night in the field here at about 50m. Only shot one the other is from yesterday. Some lazy *** has not moved it Still taking the bait. I am now religiously closing them chickens.
  22. That exactly what i see. Committed no crime. Attacked no one and shot in the face with a taser.
  23. Good start there considering its so cold. Some experience in the bag too. With NV I like to put out markers to show the range and prefer to use air rifle rather than shotgun for those tricky spots.
  24. This ^^. He was not armed or threatening. The WPC was out of control, fortunately she did not have a pistol.
