Don't normally do this but 153 added this week. Total 875 -
Oh cheers chaps. It does not look happy.

I had the same to day whilst carrying back a dead one. The acrobatics have to be seen to be believed.

Sitting in lounge and can hear a buzzing. Track it to the log burner and there is a huge wasp type thingy in there I am not opening that door. Leave it to wife

We have a new 1 acre pond on one of our rough shoots and were feeding corn. On my local lake the birds get loaves of bread and the local wildlife people are pushing alternatives. We turned up with a bag of frozen peas and they turned them down

We had (Avon and Somerset) an ex BASC candidate so my choice was simple, that was until he failed to appear on the voting form.

Put me down for Blair any day centre ground is where most want to be.

Out on peas today. I was told the field was barley so had to make a few calls to make sure I was in the right place. A lovely quiet 30 acre field with 20 acres planted. Set up at the field bottom next to stream with my mate at the top. With part of the field still grass it was an easy drive down to drop off the gear and plenty of birds on the field it looked like the perfect day. With the sun burning off the haze I set my hide with 4 layers of camo on the sunny side which was great for shade but meant that my view left was restricted. A steady flow of birds mostly jackdaws for me which provided some excellent acrobatic targets and I was pleased to get three pairs but missed out on a couple of triples as I was trying a bit to hard to get them. 36 shot and 31 picked brings this weeks total to a little over 150 assorted blacks and no pigeons.

This is good srs, I think as Aga man says we all develop our own methods but we need people like you to put the effort in to develop the sport for others. Its too easy to over complicate what is basically a simple process that develops into an art but this is a great start well done. I could do with one for fox shooting so if anyone knows of something let me know.

What a prize!!! I am off to Africa in a couple of weeks for pigeon, ducks and geese. Its for a week and I thought it would be easier as there is no jet lag to grapple with. Just as well as shooting is 10 hours a day. Cartridges are £330 a thou. Will be using a semi auto so as easier on the arms and loads are very light.

Bad news on the accuracy .I value Teds reports so would also expect it to be spot on. Lets hope its quick fix but I share your displeasure after getting your new gun. Let us know how you get on.

+1 Tyres Tyres Tyres. My Hilux will go pretty well anywhere but I dont want to wreck it want to avoid washing it so make a big effort to avoid the worst stuff. Personally I would go for something japanese high mileage.

I had a call from a farmer out of the blue desperate for help after crows had apparently killed one of his calves. I get round pronto and was taken to a field with a small heard of suckling cows and calves and sown the new born which was in an awful mess. He was adamant that the birds had attacked and killed it as it was born? He was insistent that the birds only arrived first thing in the morning so I agreed to be there even though I had to shoot another barley field during the day. Only later did I realise that meant 0500 . Sure enough bang on 0530 birds started to arrive not in vast numbers and to be honest if it was a drilled field with these numbers I would not have set up. Either way after by 0700 13 shot and 12 picked. I did have a picture but it wont let me upload this one with the other ? Might have to read the instructions Quick breakfast break an off to see the other Barley field which was empty of birds . Next on the list was a new farmer just not far away so set off to find him. He seems like a really nice chap knocking on 75 at a guess, and asked me to follow his merc. I dont think my Hilux has ever gone so fast. Arrived at said field to see a chap rolling it with a 50's MF very nice to see and I asked if they could roll the far side first so I could set up in the shade. Steady birds for the next three hours kept me awake although I did feel lucky not to fall off my stool. Hung on for 50 shot and 47 picked. All in a total of 63 with more to do in the morning.

The lack of prosperity in Euro countries listed is surely down to other factors rather than their membership restructuring must be the starting point. There lack of prosperity of course is to Germany huge benefit. We dont cut off less prosperous parts of the UK do we? True but having worked on some of the very largest UK investment projects that have created and provide thousands of UK jobs I can personally vouch for those that hinged on EU membership coupled with the UK's relaxed labour rules. Recognition not yet but under harmonisation this will come. Free movement of labour from poor to rich balances competitiveness. We welcome it in the UK the move north to south. There needs to be some measures applied and this will have to be worked on exactly as the EU is learning with the refugee crisis. The UK has not been at the heart of policy over the last two parliaments because of the factions in the Tory party and our sceptic euro mp's. The French and the Germans have reaped the profits whilst we have been twiddling our thumbs. We do need greater accountability in the EU election process. The history of the EU is short and it started the right way why cant it change? Its clearly easier to prosecute from the outside ie the EU against Google there is room for work here. Change in accountability is coming the member states are starting to ask for it now and that includes Merkel. Daves changes are a starter for ten quickly followed by the Netherlands it will come because it is required to keep the project on track. I agree its not ideal as it is but why throw the baby out? The UK could be a massive partner but it has to get a grip and focus that is hard to do when your parties heart is not in the game.

He is my hero No all my own work. I did struggle a little thinking of large cross border projects though.

I want my kids to be British Europeans part of a prosperous Europe free to travel and trade. Able to move seamlessly between borders where qualifications are recognised and transferable. I want my kids to be part of the fantastic cultural exchange that is the European Project. I want to be a leading part of the European space project the Airbus project the climate change programme the energy resiliance initiatives. I want the strength that comes from union that will help us restructure and drive standards for the economy of Europe and give us a chance to work with and stand up to China and India and other large emerging economies to build a better way of life for the country. I want the UK to be at the heart of that ideal influencing and driving the agenda. I want that project to get back to some of the more traditional roles that it was set up for. I want massive change on the movement of labour and I want the standards that were set for the original EU members to be adhered to. I want to see Europe prosecuting VW for its transgressions rather than the US leading the way. I want a stronger modernising agenda that includes the French. In short there is much wrong with the model that needs to change. Gather the groundswell of opinion across the nation states and change will happen. The UK has a huge part to play but it must drive that change from within not without. Much of what we see as wrong with the model comes in part from our disengagement at government level and the lack of accountability and we should change it. Our Dave started the ball rolling lets build some momentum.

Not all but some would have to come back with a reformed benefit policy and the same would be true of migrants wanting to come or staying here. If not why leave? We decide on non EU migrants already and yet this is a large group of migrants that we are unable to control with or without the EU. This is laughable. The cost of this in admin alone is huge and the cost to the individual unworkable. A large proportion of the UK workforce is a foreign national. We just dont have enough people prepared or in some cases able to do the work we need.

Let me know pls. I want one too :-) I agree with Andra some of the stuff out of HK is great but its also the same stuff that gets branded into the stuff that we buy without question and sold at 3 time the price. Looking forward to first video.

I was using one today for 54 birds posted earlier. They are great. Avoiding making a crow warning noise is the second challenge. Today I had birds flighting in the field over and used the caller to get them to look in my direction to see the deeks.

My son is married to an American. She cant stay here without a visa and she is on her third at about £800 a go. At the next renewal she can get permanent residence but I think she has to pay around £1200. If you follow the system living here seems a lot more difficult than arriving by boat.

Great tool for the job and a good day out. I want one. I have just got a perm that is restricted to the farm buildings where the black ones will be a little later in the year. Looks to me like this is the gun to get. I was wondering about just using sub sonics. The semi is pretty noisy in confined spaces and subs might be little better? Never used them though and dont know if they would be more difficult with lead being used to normal shells?

The reason people find it so hard to be happy is that they always see the past better than it was, the present worse than it is, and the future less resolved than it will be. Marcel Pagnol
