  1. I dont know where they are heading but they left here like that on Wednesday . As Fenboy says must be looking for PC.
  2. Where a medical report is needed because the applicant has declared a medical condition on the application form – the applicant will pay the fee.
  3. I am with this if it was applied in principle to all licences. If its an important enhancement to safety surely it makes sense to apply it to driving licences.
  4. Fenton is good. Very keen to retrieve and good for recall.
  5. I like the jasper layout that dog has class.
  6. This is truly magic. Well done. I remember my dad making a go cart which we towed behind our bikes it was awesome until we rolled it and mashed ourselves up a little.

Reading about your dogs (all dogs ) on here makes me miss my dog more. Looking forward to my new arrival soon to share in the misdeeds and challenges that a dog can bring. Anser what do you do about introducing your dogs to the gun? My last dog came out pretty early on (probably too early) to a driven shoot and was fine then later on a walked up shoot with me and again no issues. Then suddenly when I thought he was ok he started hanging back and would not walk ahead as soon as i picked up the gun. Dont want to make the same mistake again.
  8. I chaired a meeting in Walsall for a couple of hours at the end a woman came up to me and said you dont recognise me do you? I loooked blank and she said its Ger...... M..... I had met her 10 years before on a field trip to Barca where we had been good friends oooop,s still didnt reconcile the two people

Great result. I put up three, two year's ago and all rejected so far.
  10. Surprised. Even the basic stuff is pretty good today let alone a HW. Send it back.
  11. i hate fud's. Heavy, static take too long to set up, carry mud off wet ground, too hard to put in on dry, too small, lack versatility on stubble. With an air rifle perhaps pattern is more crucial as you need to create an on the ground kill zone rather than shooting the birds in flight with a shotgun. Same with the nets, whilst i use the set up descibed by Exudate above for shotgun. for air rifle you need to have the barrel free. I would suggest you look to incorporate a roof.
  12. Thats a lot of trust. PW massive? Well done Simon.

+1 lets get up to date.
  14. Whilst electronic comms makes it easier to share ideas etc the biggest impact is that we get to hear all of the world news at the same time making our perception of doom that much greater. In reality are we more at risk, or do we perceive more risk?
  15. I think we all have an issue of readiness but the Belgians have a huge issue of co-ordination and lack of practice between agencies. I see the escape and i also see the massive logistics issue of the casualties for the hospitals which appear to have little in place for emergencies of this kind. For me its about extremists from whatever declared religion be it catholics, muslims or christians. Extremists are the issue not the religion. Christopher Hitchens captures it adequetly.
  16. If you do any amount of shooting it would have to be a huge safe. Its easy to have a couple of thousand in and they take a fair bit of space. Clear some clothes from the wardrobe?
  17. Cracking day well done both of you. I am shooting beans and barley here in North Somerset and its almost all blacks rather than greys.
  18. I like all these but hunters vermin is my favorite. I cant take the Sandwell field sports adds or the long intro's and boring yatter that goes with Si Pittaway so that off the list.
  19. I think maybe the seed coatings are reducing the number on the newly sown crops. For me the rape has been same as your experience one shot and off they go, or there is so much choice they move over the fields. Beans have been good last week or so but here mostly blacks rather than greys. The Barley has just gone in and is shooting well so off to try some more in the morning.

Thank you anser a great story of some great companions.
  21. Farmer called at my house on Saturday to tell me he had just finished first lot of Barley. Got out there at 830 to see a mixture of black and gulls. Set my mate at the top of the field and I dropped into the bottom hedge. It was steady blacks for a couple of hours and I finished with 32 including a feral pigeon so a fair day out. It was great being in the sun with a good cover and seat in the hedge. Driving right to the hide so no carrying. At one point I had a shell duck land in my deeks it was a truly memorable day. Farmer stopped at the hide to ask If I will look at another field behind where he has just finished some more Barley. I am free on wednesday and have a couple of chaps joining me, weather looks to be good most of the week so that should be another decent day out. Sometimes it all comes together, birds, weather free time and friends.
