  1. Done. Along with my Mrs and whoever else she's now sent it to
  2. If your repairing it yourself you may swear and curse a LOT more than you did with the landy whilst there nice to drive there an absolute pain to work on. Check to see if it's got 2 little electric boxs on the dampers and if it does you will cry if you need to change them
  3. That's the best engine in them, our work van has a 2003 with about 200k on the clock now with no major work. They don't use it in the new ones though
  4. I have the same box for home use, emergency repairs on family/friends cars and bikes. Can't fault them at all, have broken the little breaker bar twice but that's it. What I usually do is hand tools that i use on a daily basis are snap on purely through ease as they come in atleast once a week, bits and bobs like 1 off sockets are Halfords usually. If you know someone with a trade card for them use it, the discounts are huge! I paid about 90 quid for the 200 piece professional one with the offer and a trade card I asked that a couple of years ago, I got 'must be 25k' he got told to get out of the workshop
  5. The new Vauxhalls don't seem to be very reliable at all, they also depreciate in value very very quickly!
  6. As walker said, my howa with a pred8 mod is quiet, you get a little hiss then the boom off the round. Not much you can do about that in afraid unless going to sub sonic rounds. It's the crack that people will hear when firing it, if they do hear it that is
  7. I bought a steel dustbin with a little hole in the lid, cost a few quid and gets used a lot! Makes life easier. Lighter fluid, light it and put the lid on And walk away
  8. If it says it fits the van guard it will fit the howa 1500 also, hope that helps
  9. Think I'd go with the majority and keep driving through them. No point stopping because all that would happen is things would escalate further
  10. I don't frequent this section of the forum but will do what now on, what a cracking write up! you should write a book If thats anything to go by, happy belated birthday
  11. Not really no, don't get me wrong I do thrash mine every now and then but the clutch part is just how I learnt to ride when I first started off road. Quicker gear changes in the dirt and I find doesn't unsettle the bike a great deal. On the road it makes it a lot smoother and less to concentrate on Just my take on it anyhow
  12. Nice that Longman! I was looking at a busa a few years ago putting a claimed 460hp down. Circumstances changed however and had to leave it. As for shifting, I only use clutch for pulling away, rest is clutchless. If you can take the time to learn to do it properly there won't be any issues with wear in gearboxes. The amount of miles I've racked up on road and off road bikes not once have I had gearbox problems! Check out 'mcgarage' on YouTube, especially the 'truth about clutchless shifting' should someone a bit more to think about If I remember rightly the reason they started using them was to stop stalling on hill climbs and through bogs when you can't kick it back up
  13. It's good fun watching them do it though ?
  14. Tried the lyalvale 29g 6's and quite like them. Seem soft shooting and have taken a couple of crows and a good range with them. Bought a slab the week after for 60 quid or so
  15. Think we've got about half an inch here, you are quite correct scully, bitterly cold! I can feel it on my hands. Built my shed yesterday except the roof, regretting that one now
  16. So woke up this morning, opened the curtains and it's snowed! Was not expecting that
  17. I use kg1 and kg12 and can't grumble with how it performs. Always gets EVERYTHING out
  18. As walker says, the right choice for the wee dog. Sorry to hear fella, hope it goes as smoothly as it can for you all
  19. Sorry for your loss, all the best to you and your family
  20. My lad responds really well to '******* come here you ********' all the usual sit, stay, paw. He knows shake so when he's wet I can get him to shake before he jumps in the car, took a while but worth it for soaking the Mrs who's there and he will go outside or to the door and bark. Down stairs he will run down and do the same, bedtime he knows very well
  21. Ahhh the simplicity of an old stroker, don't see that any more!
