I am quite partial to a couple of bottles of Crystal champagne on ice, a little Beluga caviar and belinis, a few whipping boys to put up my hide, collect birds and pack away, and my shooting companion is Jennifer Aniston, at about this time I usually wake up to find my coffe has gone cold and the wet smelly dog has nicked my sausage sarny

coffee, biscuit and raisen yorkie, and a pie. always plenty of golden virginia and blue rizla as the birds only fly in when i am rolling, so i now trick them and pretend i am rolling another fag!!!

Thats the trick....plenty of coffee cause they always come in when you take a leak

Flask + cigs, both used (as has been said) to get 'em to fly over just as I'm pouring or lighting up...

Standard proceedure mate

When there's nothing flying about, get that flask out and they'll be all over the shop whilst you're dropping everything to grab the shotty   :drinks:

i was just reading some of the posts on this topic and had a little chuckle cuz yeh...

the min you grab your flask, fags etc or even when you look one way they appear from the opposite.

my mate Baz now has his own method of decoying the pigeons when its quiet...... he pours a cuppa coffee and bingo they arrive while hes still has the cup in his hand.

spooky! do they know? are they watching us? or are they after the coffee

Depends where we're going but if I'm taking the quad (so no issue with carrying gear) then we take the camping stove, littel one burner type, and then some of the following:

crusty baguette (from our local bakery of course!)

some home made chilli oil

bacon

mushrooms

and the first pigeon shot of the day - fillet off the breasts, slice each breast into about 5 - 6 strips, cook the bacon and mushrooms until cooked and flash fry the pigeon breasts for approx 1 1/2 - 2 mins.

you can't get a butty like this anywhere - just the job for the day!

And on the odd occasion when we're setting the hide up, dog has come on point - so left her there whilst we set up, if we're lucky enough to get the rabbit then I use the rabbit liver and kidneys, a few wild mushrooms and a nice goose or duck egg for a twist!

I'm the same, if only because I know if I took anything, the only time I would see a pigeon is when I put the gun down to get something out of my lunchbox ???

Its amazing...it dosnt matter who or where you are in the country we all have exactly the same problems with pigeons, theiving dogs, no birds until you take a leak or have a coffee.....and we are all partial to wotsits and mars bars......there has got to be something genetic !!!!!
