KDR
Obviously we all have our good days and bad, but on average what is your kill to shots ratio when your decoying pigeons.

TaxiDriver
I'll cough to anywhere between 14 -26 for 80 cart's at sporting clays {ohh the shame, the shame} Edited August 1, 2011 by TaxiDriver
activeviii
on average im shooting better than 2:1. some days im doing 170 birds for 200 carts and other im doing 20 birds for 50 carts. on the last 1000 carts i shot 700 birds so happy with that but as soon as the bird numbers start to drop my ratio will change, it did last year.hehe
ack-ack
Gave the vintage 1100 a run out yesterday PM. Bloody hell! Did nigh on two boxes for 8 pidgey. Not my finest hour but a proper good laugh.
motty
I'm usually annoyed at myself if i shoot worse than 2 shots for 1 pigeon. When i'm on form, i'd say i have around 1.2 shots per dead bird in a session. All in all around 1.5-1.6:1.
silver pigeon 3
Completely dependent on a million different variables, last week about 3:1 this week they decoyed perfectly and it was 29 cartridges for 26 birds. But i would say on average about 2:1 over decoys
Whitebridges
Last Saturday it was 12 pigeon for 19 shots. 1:2 is about me over deeks. Roost shooting is a different matter.
proTOM1
If there decoying well then 1.5 is where i like to be but 2.1 is fine aswell tho when like the other day they would not decoy i was 3 to 1 as was taking long birds have days when im 4 to 1 which is not good ,roost shooting happy at 4 to

Frenchieboy
I have had a few days where I am hitting 4 out of 5 but those days are far and few between. A more realistic and regular ratio for me would be something in the region of 3 out of 5!
ollie
I would be in the 1 bird per 2 cartridge group, but it depends on so much. I mean if you are getting the birds on a flightline the shooting can be quite testing so the ratio will be increased and other days when they are virtually commiting suicide I would be disappointed with 1:2. Sure as long as you get a half decent bag, your doing a job for the farmer and you have fun it doesn't matter what your ratio is.
Spiderdude
Don't count not bothered.. Whatever it takes and I'm enjoying it.
chrispti
Decoying; An average of 2-1 for me. Some days more some less, depends on the birds, weather, land etc. If I only shot decoying birds I wouldnt miss much at all. I also find that quite boring. I like to test myself and shoot high/ long birds, again every day is different, my days always seem to start off at a 100% kill rate, then my shooting will go to rat **** for an hour then it sorts it self out
njc110381
I generally do about one in three. Some days I'm terrible, others I do quite well! I did a while ago fire a whole belt of cartridges (25) for one bird..... Let's never mention that again!
rcooke25552
Had days where I hit 20 for 25 last week. Also shot last wednesday with 100 carts to 1 pigeon.

fenboy
I normally average at better than 2 for 1 but there are a lot of variables I can remember shooting 42 birds for 48 of the top of my head ,but on a bad day that goes out the window ! I changed gun around 18 months ago though and it has taken me until recentley to get back to around the 2-1 or less ratio
