Rizzini
Beretta mate. They just have the edge, well more than than, over the Brownings. Better wood on the Beretta's, the Brownings tend to have very light wood but Beretta's have a much darker wood on then. More me Beretta EVERY time! Guest cookoff013
MK70 all the way, traded a 686e for it. in my honest oppinion, mk70 is way better than the 686.

majordisorder
Im 6' 2" and its browning all the way for me Im 6'and "portly".... Browning for me.....Beretta's feel to flimsy, its the shallow action, Brownings are mens guns!! shaun So basically if you're man size you need a Browning, but if you a short **** use a ladies gun like a Beretta
HDAV
So basically if you're man size you need a Browning, but if you a short **** use a ladies gun like a Beretta Not true, I'm not tall but am broad and browning is a better fit off the peg, all this colour of the wood stuff is nonsense really its just down to the finish. There is no guide that can tell you which will fit until you try them.... Before i bought my 525 i took it and a 686 out to clay ground and tried them both on a variety of targets, both guns were the same price and spec 30" sporters I preferred the 686 to start with, so shot it first, then the 525 after shooting the 525 i tried the 686 again (as that's what i wanted!) went home with the 525.... I wonder how many people have done these sort of tests/comparisons! Or just buy what looks good in the shop?
Canis
On the one hand you have a value engineered( ) copy of the finest O/U gun ever made, so good that it has been in production for the last 80 years , put together by the Japs who are actually pretty good at engineering on the other you have the O/U produced by the only mass market Italian manufacturer with a history of producing reliable guns. would you rather drive a Toyota or a fiat? Dibs
I have a Miroku MK38 at the moment and what a gun, albeit I would like a 32 rather than the 30 inch I have. Bought as a stop gap whilst I looked for a new Blaser F3 Pro or a nice used Krieghoff K80 but the more I shoot it the more I know I wont shoot any better with anything else. Cant get on with Berettas, find them too light feeling. Edited August 12, 2011 by Dibs
gixer1
Was it not browning that had problems with stocks splitting for a while?? Edited August 12, 2011 by gixer1
HDAV
I find this interesting: http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews912.html & http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews3857.html Similar number of reviews, very similar scores, seems both have a very happy following of owners.... Laird Lugton
Well if it's a Toyota or a Fiat I'll take the Fiat given the furore last year with Toyota 5ft 5" and a 30" Beretta SP
artschool
Was it not browning that had problems with stocks splitting for a while?? probably because so many manly men are handling them.

BerettaSV10
I have had Browning 525's Miruko MK60's and various Beretta's. Being 6' 2" and a big build after a while I found the fit of the Browning and Miruko's was not for me, and now use Berettas. It would be well worth a trip to a good gun smith / shop or a good coach to see what they think about the fit of your current gun and if another make off the shelf is a better fit. If they say it needs altering work out the cost of the alterations against the trading in, it could be that which ever gun you get might need some fitting. In the end I traded mine in for Berettas. markm
Beretta - best semi autos by a mile. Browning - best O/U by a mile. Except - miroku who do the same as browning cheaper with a lower combm which will be ideal for the OP.
EdSolomons
They all do the same job mate pick a few up, find one that fits and that handles in a way that best suits your style and go for it. Browning/mirook/beretta will all last longer than we will so don't worry too much about that just choose one that works for you.

GW80
Have never owned a Browning myself, i used to shoot nothing but Beretta's. Now have a mirkou that i will be trading back in for another Beretta! The Mirkou is a great gun but just not for me, i like the slim profile of a beretta and also the sound of the action closing! Sad really!
