chrispti
The new Semi Auto from Beretta looks nice and is extremely good value for money selling around the £760 mark http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=beretta%20a300%20outlander&source=web&cd=5&ved=0CE8QFjAE&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gmk.co.uk%2F%3Fp%3Dnews%26id%3D1&ei=MIn3TrCIA8OeOr6CiJ0B&usg=AFQjCNHgBcORsqJEKsOHsQ_gkUTWOzW2kQ

humperdingle
Interesting... Wonder if the barrels from any other models are compatible. Would like to handle one up close.
Spiderdude
I've seen and handled this in the flesh. It's a nice gun and is to replace the ESS composite one they did. You're right about price, the one I looked at was under £800.
stu nesling
looks remarkably like my franchi 712  . no small coincidence that the franchi 712 was made by the same group and discontinued a while ago. bet it has the benelli rotating bolt head too, to match the ergal ali receiver. looks a nice gun, but see if you can find a black actioned 712 first and save yourself £400+ i know it will be 2nd hand but you wont regret it....love mine and would not part with it
mudpatten
It actually has a falling block breech lock like the old 300 series. It looks like a cross between the A303/4 and the AL 391. It has the older style, short Mobil chokes but they`ve steel proofed the barrels and they all have 3" chambers. Very tempting. If I did`nt have a Benelli. welshwarrior
That looks like a nice option for my first semi been looking 712 and had no luck
Spiderdude
The guy in the store said it was a Benelli in all but name. Edited December 26, 2011 by Spiderdude
Tam
Looking at the Beretta list on GMK looks like they have dropped the 3 1/2" chambers
sitsinhedges
That looks suspiciously like a 391 with a slightly different fore end nut. The ES100 budget Beretta just seemed on a par with Hatsans so if this is up to the 391 in build quality I reckon it will be a winner. As far as I can tell 391's seem to be more highly regarded than the new A400.
EdSolomons
The older 390/391s are far better than any auto out there including the newer berettas. I spent best part of 2 years looking for a 32" 391 urika in reasonable Nic and now I've found one am getting it set up right and won't get rid of it if someone offered me 3 new ones in it's place! Cracking guns.
BlaserF3
Is that the one that Chris Potter had for sale? I wholeheartedly agree about the 391 series guns being the best auto out there. I bought a Teknys fitted with Urika wood a fortnight ago brand new for £850. I couldn't get on with a 32" barrel though...but you are used to shooting a scaffolding pole Edited December 26, 2011 by BlaserF3
EdSolomons
No got it Through a small shop down south- a mate saw it and let me know as he knew I wanted one. Just had it lengthened and the comb jacked up, and a couple of 2" ported beasts to screw in. Just waiting for a 10oz mag cap and the set ups complete. Gun was £710 stock work £230 and £100 for chokes. All set for the auto comps and pigeon slaying!

EdSolomons
About 9lb when I've leaded the stock I'd guess... Hope to try it out tommo if I get home in time!
BlaserF3
That's a bit light for you You should enjoy it though, I've found that they work best if you run them dry, from the receiver forward. EdSolomons
I'm getting weaker in my old age ;-) need to get rid of the 30" 390 that's cluttering up the cabinet now! Don't really want to let it go, been a great tool.
Catweazle
As far as I can tell 391's seem to be more highly regarded than the new A400. Shotguns are very subjective though, I PXd an AL390 Silver Mallard for A400 Unico, much prefer the A400 myself but they both go bang every time. In 10 years we may have people waxing lyrical about the A400 and saying it was better than the new A1000 or whatever.
