Hamster
My wife is insisting on a meaningful present for my birthday , and to be honest I feel incredibly lucky to want for nothing equipment wise, the only thing I can think of is to change my faithful bolt action Brno which I've had for years for a Rimfire Magic. The reasoning is that as good as the old gun is it just doesn't get out more than a few times a year as my FAC air gun is often put into use instead. Now I figure if I got one of these http://www.guntrader.co.uk/GunsForSale/120306130142001 may well eat through my ammo in an entertaining way. So those with the experience, should I or am I completely being silly? Many thanks.
apache
I can't be the only person who thinks that looks horrid! What's wrong with a nice piece of walnut? If I swapped my CZ for any other I am sure I wouldn't kill any more bunnies. With a better scope I might. That might be where I'd spent the money. Dekers
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, if you like it then fine, but I think it looks pants, and it's £895 USED!! Guns are tools for me, NOTHING more, yes, I most certainly take care of them, but I don't buy things for aesthetic reasons. Your call, we all like different things! ATB! I should have mentioned my guns aren't often admired for their looks . I recently bought a fantastic scope off a forum member which is meant to go on my air FAC but may well end up on this instead. I'm thinking of getting it to rekindle some fast fire fun AND vermin.
BlaserF3
I shot one years ago fitted with a black Houge stock, that was a nice little rifle with a decent trigger for a semi. I must say that misshapen lump of wood does nowt for me though.
bedwards1966
That is without a doubt the most hideous gun I've ever seen! And a lot of money for what exactly? I very much doubt it'll be any more accurate than your BRNO (what is...?). So yes, in answer to your question you are being silly - except get whatever you like! If you want one, get one! The only important downside in my view is semi's are not good for anything but target shooting, as nothing beats a bolt action for safety. The opinions on here on these things are irrelevant, buy what you will enjoy. Life's short enough, if you think you will enjoy it and therefore want it, go ahead. phaedra1106
Had my hands on one of these and it looks nicer in the flesh BUT £895 for a used 10/22? no way on Gods Earth. For that money you could get a nice black Sig 522 and a decent scope or a 10/22 and a good scope and import the Boyd directly from the US. zab10
i have a rimfire magic volquartsen custom 10/22 and its a great bit of kit but they are expensive compared to most other .22s i got mine at a snip so took it although i liked a more traditional gun to , but i has grown on me and as it has the carbon fibre barrel and skeleton stock it is very light and accurate and a pleasure to use . £895 does sound expensive when you look at cz's and standard 10/22's but you do get what you pay for and they seem to hold there value for resale purposes . if you like it and can afford it go for it , it dont matter if anyone else likes it as long as you do . bedwards1966
Safety has nothing at all to do with what type of gun you use, it's the person using the gun who makes it safe. Just the fact that after taking a shot with a bolt you pull the bolt back and it's safe with an open, empty chamber. Take a shot with a semi and it loads another round in the chamber, I'd never choose one for shooting over land.

I can see your point but a semi can be used as a single shot rifle too, bit silly but it can.

39TDS
I think you should have your ticket revoked for even considering it. You are obviously unbalanced.

DR JAMES
I have both these rifles Ruger 10/22 .22lr Semi Auto & a CZ 452 .22lr Bolt Action KEEP THE CZ & buy a Ruger 10/22 from Rim-Fire Magic but not that one in your link. Go to gun smiths and seak to the boss he is a realy nice chap & so is his misses they will let you look at what they have even let you have a shhoot at some if your realy interested in something. CZ is more accurate and quiter in my hands to a certain degree as I can shoot good enough groops at 50yrds with my Ruger but its not a quite even with a buffer fitted to it as the sliding block makes a noise in the field at night more louder but its like everything else its all down to the inderviduals choise and preffrence. UP 2 U M8 but I hope I have helped

Puggers
Hi, I have one and love it - others who have shot with mine do so as well but it's not to everyone's tastes so I have had a few sneers. Each to his own I say and if you have the chance to try one by speaking to RM themselves (they are exceptionally friendly and knowledgable), you'll be in a much better position to make your own mind up and spend your wife's money as you want, not on what others tell you to. It can be a bit ammo fussy but I'm pleased with what I bought and use although it's not my only rifle so I do have the benefit of options. Regards and hope you get what you want. I bought a Magtech 7022 Semi recently for £150 Brand New, you don't need to spend £895 on a semi to have some fun!
