Spinning bed

The bed spins was what finally convinced me to ditch the stella and spirits. Horrible sensation.

Give me a nice 3.6-4% beer you can knock back all night with no horrible after effects and no making a helmet of yourself.

As a side note, I tried Stella 4% at a friends wedding on Friday night and was very pleasantly surprised. It would seem they have finally discovered how to make decent tasting, lower alcohol lagers outside of Germany and the Czech Republic. It is similar in flavour to a Belgian blonde ale, but without the headsmashing strength. I'd happily drink it again, and normally I am very fussy when it comes to lager, drinking only south German or Czech stuff.

I don't know, these youngsters that have a couple of pints and then realise that they can't handle it without having to hold on to the bed - When they eventually find it and get it to stay still long enough to get into it, usually on the third attempt!:lol::lol:

How's your head now, just right for a nice long clay shooting session no doubt (Without ear protectors)? It is after all "self inflicted" so I doubt that you will find much sympathy on this forum.

I think that the worst I ever got was when I had a session drinking "Snake Bites" in a pub in Gloucester - I woke up in the park using a rose bush for a pillow!

hangovers are officially not worth it... :( and I was drinking a nice light beer (corona) don't think that's over 4%....

I even stopped drinking at midnight in light of the fact our kids don't understand the term "long lie" so mrs gixer took pity and went through to the lounge when the littlest one woke up at 5!

At least the bed isn't spinning now...

And tennents is not a nice beer, I always thought it tasted like metal for some reason!

regards,

Gixer

Hark at all the holier than thou types on here!!

I enjoy a damn good drink as much as the next man

And 4% Stella is for girls!

I find with most women that can drink as much as a man either its evaporated by the time its reached the throat or its because there is very little grey matter to affect  I am lucky in that I do like a drink  but when it does get me it just switches me off literally to the point I dont know how I got home (usually carried  ) and I never suffer a hangover

Doesn't really sound too bad to me if the bed is only spinning - it's when the bed is spinning falling down a black hole you have to worry. Now those make you giddy and no need to call Huey - he is already there waiting.

Have to say even smell of Rum makes me ill now.

I stay away from lager as much as i can and go for real ales and bitter (not john smiths), I can drink quite a few pints of ale and still get up at 6.30 the next morning nice and fresh, I had 4 pints of fosters the other night and the next morning felt like i had been beaten with a cricket bat.

Best thing to stop a hangover is 2 pints of water (if you can stomach it) just before bed.

It's for all of the above reasons that I gave up drink 12 years ago. Does anybody think that a bad hangover is worth it? Perhaps it is but it's been so long since I had a drink I can't rememeber what it tastes/feels like.
