digger
oddly i never sniff the faulty ones ( the ones loaded incorrectly so as to cause me to miss ) just the ones that connect.

Scully
It's not just me then! The smell of .22rf takes me back to when I shot in the cadets while at school. I used to own a Winchester model 12 which was complete in its original leather and canvas motor case.It dated from the late 1950's and the smell was a concoction of gun oils, burnt powder etc,and was quite addictive! Catweazle
The Lapua 22LR smell nice - reminds me of Belray 2stroke oil.
dk6052
Though not a serious cartridge sniffer, I must admit that red dot smells far nicer than any of the vectan powders I have used.

My contact in the SAS ( Andy McNab books ) says that handling nitro explosives gives you an outrageous headache, so you could be right. bedwards1966
The smell of a cartridge, especially after a good shot, is simply one of the best smells around.

Trevorevans
Yep, but I've got a thing for smells. As said cartridges along with, chainsaw bar oil mixed with the sap of whatever your cutting (pines the best), gun oil and any exhaust fumes from a 2 stroke. Oh then there's also petrol and cigar or pipe tobacco smoke. Not really a healthy fetish I wouldn't have thought lol.
