apache
1. Does it really matter if one shop saves you £5/250 cartridges? Don't know what kind of car you drive, but £5 doesn't get you far with fuel prices as they are. Support your local RFD or lose them. When all the little guys go out of business and there is no competition then the big boys will up their prices. 2. I really think in this day and age plastic wad cartridges should be banned, especially for any live quarry shooting. I hate seeing the countryside littered with plastic wads. Fibre clay shells can match plastic performance. Don't like seeing them at clay grounds either. Like the arrogant ****** who let the dead cartridges fly out of the gun - either catch them or pick them up.

Got to agree : a while back, someone was asking about cartridges from a well-known online retailer. I suggested they spend a few minutes on the phone to local RFDs, and just asked the prices. The result was that the online sales were more expensive, even before the delivery charges had been added in. Also agree re : plaswads. For crying out loud, fibre costs about an extra 1p per cartridge. Plaswads and spent cartridges are litter. The rule for shooting on my land is that if plaswads are used, or spent cartridges are left behind, then all permissions will be revoked immediately. I know a number of farmers who are imposing the same conditions, too.
