Digweed on maize

From the video it is not clear exactly how far away some of the birds were when Digweed shot them. Certainly they were a fair distance, but not 100m or even 90m.

Of more interest is how difficult they were. Digweed's ability to read the line of the birds he fires at is the key to his success. Some of those birds were losing quite a few metres in height. How many of us are able to swing down on such birds with any degree of success?

Saw it! You would have to be Digweed to get a bird with that hide round here!! Stuck out in the field, silly Xmas hat on, STANDING UP!!?? No Essex bird would come nearer that 60 yards, and I'm struggling at that range!!

I agree entirely. Both Digweed and the Crowman stand up in their hides. Still they do seem to get their fair share.

I think they get more cooperation from the farmers. Here, they cultivate the stubble ASAP, plough the game cover in etc etc, scare the birds and make them flighty with gas guns and rockets, then complain when they see a bird on their crops. A bird that has been scared eats just as much rape as it would if not scared (or more to fuel all that flying), one in the chiller eats ZERO!!

I have shot with both the crowman and George on several occasions George by far is the better shot but in my opinion there is someone who beats them both he is an excellent shot but his fieldcraft is second to none. You can be the best shot but if you are in the wrong place and nothing comes near it counts for nothing.

Have you ever seen either of them using clay loads for shooting pigeons?
