neil smith
Guys I know they look like adjusters but there not, they were just what we had to hand on the day they were welded up, any piece of steel that can reliably "trip" the plate over would work. Its important that the plate cannot twist through 90 degrees or less & stay upright as sometimes happens when plates with "feet" are used on stands, that leads to scoring arguments & delays & re-shoots. The bases above can be used with several different sizes & thickness of plates which allows for greater creativity when building a stage, by putting a heavy steel set at longer ranges you can force shooters to either use a tighter choke or move closer to take the plate, by adding close light plates in the same stage the challenge is in working out what is the best combination to use. Is it best to use a more open choke which allows faster shooting up close & run the extra distance using up some time to get closer to the heavy plate or use a tight choke & shoot slower & more precise on the closer targets & then stand off & hope to take the heavy plate from further away & save the time it takes to move. Wharf Rat
Anyone in Norfolk/Suffolk fancy a trek over to a PSG ground? There are none too close, but sharing petrol costs would make it a better looking option. I like to travel and miss targets, shooting the same patch of sky is not as interesting. Me my little lad and mrs all had a go at this at the weekend with the .410 mossburg . We used tennis balls as targets they where pretty challenging to shoot ! It might be worth us looking to join a club if this is available at our local ? http://www.reephamshootingcentre.com/2010/02/welcome-to-reepham-shooting-centre.html?m=1 Edited June 25, 2013 by matt . simmons

Malik
Thinking about buying a Winchester SXP this weekend, what do people think to them? I only want it as a cheapy, if i take it out or go anywhere, i won't mind if it gets a few marks on it. But it also has to perform... Another thing, seen people with mounted torches and other accessories, wheres the best place for accessories? Thanks in advance if anyone can help. Will Poon
Malik , the SXP is very good indeed multichoked easy to maintain and cheap to buy what more can you ask for However I got rid of mine last week :( only because I was torn between the SXP or the 870 wingmaster , so the wingmaster gets used more so the SXP got sold . Ive only ever shot guns made with wood stocks, Not any synthetic stocks
Reeceknight
Shall I use this thread as an excuse to purchase a pump, just so I can join the "mystical pump" club? Hmmmmmm
thepasty
How did you get on with the pistol grip bud? I've got a recoil reducing jobbie on the way.... Its real nice, it fits better than the original, is easy to handle, more comfortable and the butt pad takes loads of the recoil out... the only down side is its a **** to go from the top receiver mounted safety to then mounting the gun. I'll get used to it I'm sure. Edited July 1, 2013 by thepasty

Cool init , you can get a mossy with the same stock (different forend) which could be a better buy than the Revo... Not dissing the Revo, its probably fine but the mossy is tried and tested for not alot of cash.
ChAoS
Shall I use this thread as an excuse to purchase a pump I *order* you to buy a pump (or lever) action shotgun, young man. If it were me, I'd track down a thirty or forty year old gun wiv nice wood an' stuff. Leave all that tactifool plastic junk for *other* people to buy. Regards, Mark. P.S. I put half-a-dozen shots through a brand-new SXP. My verdict? "Meh" - it worked but wasn't anything special.
thepasty
Leave all that tactifool plastic junk for *other* people to buy. I like to think us pumpers are an unassuming, open minded brothers in arms bunch, derogatory comments like the above are not welcome, you had the choice to get your own preference and opinion across without disrespecting fellow shooters preferences and choices. but you chose otherwise..... a shame. phaedra1106
I joined the club about a month ago, bought a Sec.1 870 Wingmaster with the Deluxe stock and 28" barrel, looked huge next to my other guns!. Took it to PSG on Saturday and it handled very nicely, certainly a lot easier for me to load (arthritic thumb) than my previous Hatsan MPA was. Just need to find a 5 round mag extension, £66 from Midway UK!! or £32 from Brownells plus Int. shipping etc. :( Edited July 2, 2013 by phaedra1106

Cats have evolved into the 21st century Now, having sucessfully avoided taking any responsibility for forgetting to send it I will sneak off and do it now . . . . . . .
