Price of pigeon cartridges

Recommended Posts

Bought a stack of pigeon cartridges a couple of years ago, not done so much over the last year but now getting to the end of them, kent velocities. Just called my local Rfd and they are quoting £200 per 1000 for Hull pigeon 28gram, alot more for 30/32gram. Not really moaning if prices are still rising but just checking with you guys to see if its worth shopping around, oh, I'm in Gloucestershire.

I bought some hull 28 gm, 6's in January for £180 a 1000, but just got a price today for some more and was quoted £220 , can't believe it, going to shop around myself , in the meantime i'm using up some 7.5 24 gm steels , ok but a bit short on range, only paid £130 a 1000 for them so cheap shooting if you can get up close and personal with the pigeons.:no:

I just bought 3k of hull super fast 29 of 6. £171 per K. Ian volleys. No discount for bulk but same price as just carts.

I tried buying some super fast pigeon at the weekend only to be told they have stopped production until later in the year, so grab them while you can!

I was told the same, they said they had just ordered the last 30,000 and the price was going up 10%. Amazingly they charged the higher price for the old stock and couldn't understand why we were annoyed about paying new price for old stock!

I went to a gun shop in leominster last week I think it's called game and clay

But the cartridge prices were very good

3.80 abox for clay cartridges

And some good prices on game ammo

In 12 and 20g

some of the prices you guys are quoting are where it is viable to reload.

dont be sucked in to the 27 / 29 / 31 gram bull. cartridge manufacturers are just screwing around. the removal of 1gram of shot is littereally nothing when comparing patterns downrange.

if they are cheaper, so be it and go get some.

the point on where it is viable to reload is about £200/k and thats for 32g / 28g loads. and thats for the 12gauge too.

I'm still loading for £120/K

yes FC, but not everyone has access to the skills and patience for dropping shot.

i in my bargain hunting managed that once, (130/k) but that was because a whole heap of lead just dropped in my lap very cheap.

Even with making my own shot at £1.30per kg I cant get close to that. Mine come in at £170 per k Edited by super sharp shooter
