I used to use the Hull High Pheasant 6s a couple of years ago and thought they were great. Switched to Lyalvale more recently due to cost. English Sporter for clays, Special game for pigeon shoot and Supreme Game as a replacement for the High Pheasant.

When bought in bulk the Lyalvale work out quite a bit cheaper, annoying as I'd prefer to support the British company but not when they are more expensive.

how long is a piece of string ? its purely personal preference each shell will work with different efectiveness in diffrent guns some that may pattern well in one may be inconsistant in others! if you can buy a selection of different ones and pattern test them in your gun! clear pigon work well in mine as do the gamebore velocity 28/29g shells grab a box of 2 or 3 different brands or loads (or nick a few off your mates!) and try them out ! dont rely on your consistancy (kills to miss ratio) on game/vermin as that could be down to where your point your gun as much as the load! but a pattern test will show you which what works best in your gun !

Me and my mate Ryan shoot every weekend, and we love the dan arms 7.5's. For the long shots, we use either clear pigeons, super halcons, or rio royals. They all seem to be lightning fast in our guns! Pheasants also get the same treatment. Clays get the dan arms also. We also use the odd extreme pigeon for the high flyers in the woods.

Ducks - Gamebore blackgold 32gr 4's

Geese - RC50 0's

Rabbits, woodcock, snipe, plover etc - Gamebore clear pigeon 32gr 6's

Ducks and geese over water - Friends homeloaded steel

Sporting clays - Gamebore blackgold 28gr 8's

Skeet - RC2 24gr 9's

Aister do you shoot sporting clays on Shetland? Or on the mainland.

A proper ground or farm shoot.

In that case they would be lightning fast in anyone's gun.
