October has been a very busy month... Granddaughter arrived.. :yahoo: and started a new Job.

Shooting has had to take a back seat and the next few weeks are looking just as busy.

Struggling to find the time for a morning let alone a full days shooting, had a great offer to go beating however had to refuse due to work load.. :sad1:

Reading a few posts it seems the shooting hasn't been to good so it looks like I haven't missed much, really missed the adrenalin rush..looking forward to getting out there again very soon.

better get the thermals out.. :good:

I'm sure when you have your feet under the table you will manage to find some time, hope Grace is doing well, and will speak soon. :good::good:

For some people pigeon shooting is more important than family or work. And I thought that you were one of us.

  I love my pigeon shooting....but holding my granddaughter is a marvelous feeling and will always come first..well until the harvest anyway..

you are far too young to join the club just yet..... :)

Congratulations on becoming a Grandparent.

I have two children aged 7 &, 5 plus a needy wife! Yes time is the resource i lack most, i have plenty of permission, access to miles of fishing (my other passion) but time to get the best out of em....suggest you find a compromise?

Cheers

Aled

Hi Steve, you missed some great birds on Saturday! I went to Southam and Stratford, and as you know where Southam is (nice and hilly) it was blowing a gale! I had 2 birds that had the best shots out of my gun ever! Right to left and moving like bullets! The second of which i thought i had missed but as i picked up as the rain kicked in hard i found it about 100 M's away which just goes to show the wind speed!

A Buzzard tried to have a decoy away too!

Then I moved over to Stratford and the Maze had been cut. However the wind just seemed to get worse! I walked off a flock of Crows and a small flock of Pigeons off the field and just stood under a couple of tree's with the deeks out, and in the hour or so i was there picked up another 10 or so! The wind was so strong some of my decoys were trying to run away and some of the birds were really fighting to get in to the pattern and just ended up almost hovering for some pretty easy going shooting!

Alot of young birds though, at least a quarter shot were pretty small!

Glad i got out there despite the weather as it was my best weekend yet, not for numbers but just sheer excitment!
