artschool
“When they got to the station they saw it was alight and the fire engine they needed to put out the fire was also on fire so they could not use it.” at least no one was hurt. Lord Geordie
Whats the odds it was an electrical fault in the NEW fire engine As said, luckily nobody was injured! They will have to rename themselves, Red faced watch! Edited March 11, 2014 by Lord Geordie
Zapp
We've heard some pretty far fetched tales about the goings on in Downham Market in the past, but this one certainly takes the bacon biscuit. Glad nothing more than pride got hurt.

wymberley
I've just heard from a reputable source that one of the drivers asked for some leave. "Cor, strike a light", exclaimed the watch commander. So he did...........

TaxiDriver
Used to like going down there with empty 20ft Containers to load, Used to be able to get a smashing breakfast upstairs in the canteen and can remember seeing shoals of Bream going along the river right close to the bank Seem to remember the pub on the river front was a pretty shabby dive @ the time, wasn't much fun getting caught down there for a night out (out of driving hours)

norfolk dumpling
It's the in-breeding particularly in the Fens. "Roll your own" as Billy Connoly called it. The watch commander was probably the brother of the first couson's uncle of the person who lit the fire. No relative of mine I hope although my extensive family has a couple who moved out that way.
