superspark
Hi all, looking for some information on the cz zkm452 .22lr. Has anyone purchased this rifle recently and if so what scopes and sound suppressors have you fitted and what was the cost of the attachments. I have just been granted my firearm certificate with slots for a .22 rimefire and moderator. I realy like the look of this rifle and how it felt in the shop. I would realy like some advice on what scope and attachment for the scope. Have upto £400 for this and up to £200 for the sound modifier. I have seen a few scopes that I like but am unsure of what makes will fit this rifle, would realy appreciate any advice givern on your setups etc cheers Darren
steve_b_wales
Get yourself a SAK moderator, for around £30, this will be ample for a .22LR. The scope depends of what you want to shoot with your rifle. Anything around 3-9x50 should suit your needs. Makes like HAWKE, SIMMONS, TASCO are all good. Also take a look at the REDFIELD scopes. Excellent value for money. Finally, make sure you buy a good quality set of scope mounts.
spandit
Get yourself a SAK moderator, for around £30m this will be ample for a .22LR. Blimey, they've gone up in price. £30,000,000!!
steve_b_wales
Blimey, they've gone up in price. £30,000,000!! They are good though! Slight slip of the finger while typing. Now edited!
The Mighty Prawn
I've recently bought a 452 american, Sak mod and a Hawke 3-12x50 as a paper puncher I wanted a bit more than 9x but all up was around £
welshwarrior
Moderator SAK or Sicorroco under £50. Scope mine has a S&B 6x42 on it super clear glass perfect for lamping £250 mount don't need to be special on a 22lr. Most scope will do but personally fixed European glass is the best. turbo33
As Steve said I have the 452 Silhouette, ( because I like rubber ) I have a sak mod on it.......more than enough. And an MTC Viper scope. It was a mint second hand at £110, but new they are £155. Target turrets so you can dial in if you want to. Its fixed 10x44 so no messing about with different aim points each time you alter the mag. And for mounts, a pair of sportsmatch medium, 30mm £28. So mod, scope, mounts around £230 all in. Works a treat out to 100yards which is pretty much my limit with the 22lr. Oh and while you're shopping, get a sling and a reasonable 9-13" swivel bipod, Harris if your ok for funds, Deben if your running a bit short. NickB65
Purchased mine over three months ago and made the mistake of putting a huge scope on it 6-24x52 and it was overkill..... now shoot with a simple Hawke HD 3-9x40 and it is great. I also have a SAKO Mod but that came with the gun - SAK is a great mod. The guns are easy to work on, simple to clean, deadly accurate but that will depend on you and consistent. The .22LR is a great round and once you have found the type of ammo your gun likes best you will have hours of fun with this. They are not heavy but because they are cheap new stocks are not cheap and may be easier to buy a new guns than a new stock...... arjimlad
I have had a Style for more than 5 years and it is a great accurate gun. It cleans up very well externally and looks like it did when it was new despite being dragged through many hedges (metaphorically) and put down in muddy fields. It sports a SAK moderator, a bipod and a Hawke Airmax 6-18 mag scope which I bought years ago. Shoots Winchester (blue box) and Eley subs very well. I was also impressed with the grouping of CCI Velocitor rounds when I tried some of those.
superspark
I have been impressed on how it feels in hand, nicely balanced, good grip with the synthetic stock and I like the feel of the bolt action. I have spoken to several people who own them and a long with all the info and reviews I can lay my hands on seems to be a good rifle, not to expensive to purchase and by all accounts, pretty indestructible. Looking forward to purchasing one with a good scope and modifier.
billytheghillie
I have 2 cz styles (.22 and .17hmr) on .22 I have sak mod (£39) and a nikko stirling game king scope 4x16x50 for £72. just saving cash to get the .17 scoped. I bought my scope from jsramsbottom just goggle it, excellent service and prices
bicykillgaz
I personally use a sako moderator and a meopta 6x42 fixed scope which I got secondhand for about £150 and £40 for the mod. The gun you could pick up secondhand for well under budget and spend the rest on ammo to try find what it likes best. You'll not go wrong with a cz probably the worlds most popular .22 bolt rifle for vermin shooting.
superspark
Hi guys, these rifles must be dam good for the money, I can't seem to find a single bad review of it anywhere, which in turn says it all. I viewed this rifle at the Exeter Sportman Centre branch and thought the price was not to bad. I did think about buying second hand but, as with all my guns, I like, apart from the rounds put through it at the proofing house, I would be the one to put all the rest through it. Silly realy but its just how I am. My oldest shotgun is now 32 years old. couldn't think of ever selling it lol
arjimlad
I forgot to mention the Eric Brookes trigger kit I fitted, which made the trigger less creepy and more predictable. A similar kit can be obtained & fitted from Rimfire Magic, I believe.
superspark
I have heard of trigger kits for these rifles, can anyone give me some more information on the subject, ie price, whats involved in changing it etc. Can it be done by me? Or does a gun specialist need to do it thanks
welshwarrior
For £14 you get 2 shims that remove creek and 3 springs that lighten the trigger pull. You have to remove 2 pins and a little trial and error most find the smallest shim and middle spring best for hunting applications. NickB65
Fro the CZ 452 you need a trigger kit and the pull is more than you may expect and with the trigger kit it is so much more fun and accurate.
superspark
While on the subject of moderator's on the .22 rim fire. Although I have shot many rounds in the past with my father we never used sound suppression before. My question would be to those of you that know, with the moderator fitted, would it damage it to put high velocity rounds through it? If not would it still quiet the shot down still. I ask as at the moment I don't have the answer yet. I don't want to damage the moderator thanks for your help

Or does a gun specialist need to do it thanks Don't rush into this, I have had many CZ rimfires over the years, and know many people who have them as well, only about half of mine have had the kit fitted, the rest didn't need it. That seems about the norm from those I know as well. The 16" Silhouette has now gone, but a Style seems to have turned up to replace it! superspark
Thank dekers,I think to start with, I will get the rifle, scope it, moderate it and put a few hundred rounds through it and see how it goes before doing anything to the trigger Edited June 8, 2014 by superspark
bear-uk
Just acquired a 2E ZKM yesterday for £300 with scope. Yet to fire it and still no idea on model name. It has a black synthetic stock and a shiny barrel.
