FalconFN
You can prefer all you want, the fact is God Save the Queen Is our national anthem and any self respecting Englishman should sing it with pride. Did you also mean that Her Royal Highness the Queen of England does not really represent England anymore Yes, but my question was why do we have the same national anthem for Britain and England? Would it not make sense to have a different one for England? I wouldn't sing the national anthem as I don't believe in God and I'm not a hypocrite - but that doesn't make me unpatriotic. If we had a better theme tune I'd sing my little heart out.

E.w.
Hell it would make no difference if they had won tonight, simply they were not good enough to go any further anyway.
Mochastorm
I've just finished watching the game and saw the references to national pride. The team this World Cup are just not good enough. Somebody referred the Queen as Her Royal Highness. She ceased to be HRH on the death of her father. She is Her Majesty. Sorry to be pedantic, just the ramblings of a patriotic football fan. belly47
WHO DO RUGBY FANS ALWAYS FEEL IT NECESSARY TO COMMENT ON FOOTBALL WHICH THEY CLAIM TO KNOW NOTHING ABOUT?? I don't watch rugby ever, I detest it with a passion and have never felt the need to comment on their game. but on this occasion i will, spear tackles, eye gouging, faking blood injuries etc etc etc. you chase eggs and will will play the peoples game nee the worlds game in peace. just have a look and see any football thread on here and there is always some comment on here saying it would not happen in rugby, no it wouldn't cause its a different game, different rules, different everything. god I hate rugby!!! scolopax
Not a great follower of football but watched the match tonight, and we hammered them, not seen the statistics but we must have had three or four times as many shots as the opposition. Suarez though, hardly did a thing except to score two goals, one if which he was gifted. But why do footballers fall over so much! Is the same in the leagues? Suarez though, hardly did a thing except to score two goals, one if which he was gifted. But why do footballers fall over so much! Is the same in the leagues? because the rules have changed and the authorites have made the game soft, not the players, they simply appeal for what they can and its up to the ref to decide, if they can get away with why not? don't get me wrong I was brought to play and take man and ball and to not show if I got hurt, but that was park football, not top level. did I ever appeal for handball etc when I knew it wasn't? did I appeal for a wicket when bowling even though I know the ball was going down leg side? damn right I did. and yes It does cheese me off when other teams fall over all the time, but hey what can you do about it. but football will always be the greatest game ever invented, without question. four-wheel-drive
The thing that makes me laugh is that people seem to think that England stands a chance of winning we have not done that for over twenty years so why on earth would we suddenly start winning now but of cource its not that we have rubish players its all the managers falt the fact is we are not good enough we should admit it and leave it to the players from all over the world who English people pay to watch every week at man u etc.

Gordon R
kdubya - Jerusalem - top song. As for England, whilst we continue to believe that Wayne Rooney is our best hope and we persist with Gerrard, Jagielka and Baines, we won't win a single ticket raffle.
