I will stick my head above the parapet . All the " Groupies " of the 60s/70s who would push to get in the dressing rooms of so called celebrities are now crying wolf to get some compensation for their own promiscuity and the law is on there side. I would never suggest that a certain Welsh singer did not have a number of followers that only threw their knickers on stage but followed him to his dressing room allegedly.

We are all vulnerable at times and open to advances , if you accept you pay the price.

Rant over!!!!!!!

I agree with you about groupies and most celebrities will not stop and ask to see a birth certificate. That's not what we are talking about here.

I also agree that a percentage will jump on the "com-pen-say-shun" bandwagon but let's just think what we would do if one of our daughters was sleeping over and the father of the house did what RH did....

A world where in some cases people have not been aware of what goes on. Why must they have known. Our old neighbour was caught with 2,500 images on his PC, most of which he was distributing.

Married, 3 kids, BMW driving accountant.

Other neighbours were a copper, a scientist and a GP. No one had any idea.

I became good mates with a guy and his mrs through and ex ex girlfriend, we used to see him regularly.

I've lost count of the number of times he cooked for us and we'd get ****** up and have an absolute blast, he was a top bloke.

We lost touch as often happens when you split with a girlfriend, it wasn't until a couple of years later she contacted me to say he'd been charged with quite a few counts of making child porn images. I was so shocked it nearly knocked me to the floor.

The offence is one of downloading images not getting hands on so to speak but I know it makes no difference.

These people come in all shapes and sizes not just fat weirdos with beards and bottle top glasses. This guy looked just like anyone you would know and like, I didn't have a clue. No one did.

Yup, it's scary and the dark side of the web. I see no difference with downloading and getting hands on simply because if there was no demand for these images, people wouldn't abuse children to take them.

That is someone's child in those images, be they any nationality/creed/colour.

I also was friends with someone who was facing charges of downloading pornographic images, but the first I knew of it was when he committed suicide by throwing himself in front of a train, and I doubt I was the only one who had no inkling.

Up until that point I had known him all my life; delivered his newspapers as a boy, grew up knowing him as a local councillor who was known by everyone and a very popular pillar of the community with a jovial outlook and cracking sense of humour. He put a lot of work my way, and it was while doing some work at his house that he introduced me to a young lad, obviously of consensual age, but even then I only thought of him as gay. He had a straight friend with whom he always drank, and whether the friend was privy to his 'other' side or not will never be known but he wasn't tarred with any stigma after the suicide, so perhaps he didn't know either.

Who knows what goes on behind closed doors.

Have a friend who works in a prison where over 40% of the inmates are paedophiles (molest children who have not gone through puberty). The really bad ones, Category A prisoners.

My friend said they are all generally nice, the friendly guy next door types, never cause him any bother. From all walks of life.

At the time he had a seven year old daughter. He stated, quite calmly, if he ever caught one on the outside anywhere near his daughter he would kill him on the spot.

Think that is pretty much what most of us would do.

Most of them are like the guy next door. They think the children want them and that they are helping the child.

I do not believe that these types cannot be rehabilitated, it's a mental issue, not physical.

Do you really believe if no-one else wanted to see the images, paedos wouldn't abuse children? Do you really think that in the days before photography, children weren't molested?

There is a world of difference between committing an atrocious act and being curious/fascinated in viewing it. I would bet that 90% or more of those who have collections of child pornography have never and would never molest a child or would stand by and watch it 'in real life'.

kiddy porn is the worst in all my years on the net fortunately iv never seen any but then im not a great porn surfer but i would suggest if you wanted it you would have to go to the deep/dark web and thats not quite as simple as clicking on google so if your caught with it theres no real excuse because you have to trawl the depths of the internet to find it i think.

Yes, with you on that, I don't get the "accidentally clicked on it" bit .

I don't see what your argument has got to do with child sexual abuse. Nobody is arguing that groupies didn't seek to have sex with celebrities, they did then, and they still do now.

But unfortunately, when people come out with a kind of thing that you're coming out with here, you are tacitly undermining the rights of the people that have been genuinely violated, who are not groupies or anything resembling that. Did the young disabled children that Jimmy Saville sexually abused throw their knickers at him and chase him to his dressing room? No, they didn't.

I don't really think the comments like yours are very helpful, truth be told.

It's not a million miles away from someone claiming that the girl going out wearing a short skirt is "asking to be raped".

I've got a couple. What a great investment. Not

You can write up a decent capital loss on them for next year's tax return

Anyways, Rolf took the stand and said some very strange stuff and made some very damaging admissions.

That underage and then overage relationship with the daughter's friend smacks of breach of trust at best and grooming paedo at worst.

Ohh yes .......

A flood of revelations and claims for compo :good:

Yup, just heard on the news several more have now come forward and they followed that snippet with an interview from some womens rights representative who spouted on about not knocking people for claiming compensation.

I wonder why they felt they had to air them together. :hmm:

with out wishing to go into detail on a forum about how to do it "we" generally surf in whats known as the clear web that is basically anything listed that google can find, the dark/deep net you need a different browser and to know where to find the links to the sites on the dark net. most people take steps to hide their trail going there and the currency is untraceable bitcoin.

its no accident

I despise the likes of Jimmy Savile and Rolf Harris, but share some of the reservations about the actual evidence. The problem is that when you voice any reservations at all, some idiot comes steaming in and makes silly generalisations about your views.

Almost as if only the one view is allowed. Perish the thought.

These are / were very bad people who deserve to rot in hell, but that doesn't mean all the people coming out of the woodwork are 100% accurate.

That is not undermining any victims - as some would naively say - just an observation.

I know some people who are forensic accountants. They spend time on the dark web tracing money. When surfing they do it in pairs so that if they encounter anything dodgy they have backup as to how they encountered it.

And dark ebay is where you go when very drunk and buy that item you think you must have, but in the morning you realise the unicorn you thought you bought for £500 was in fact a shetland pony with a cone party hat on

I'd not be bothered, i'd not have bought it for that end!
