DEADLY PLUMBER
Out on Sunday pm. I'm going to set up just at the edge of a wheat field. Next to a Rape field. Both were being hit by 150+ birds today. I will re-recce again on Saturday pm. I will put out some floaters and decoys and possibly my flapper. It will also take my young dog for his first go at decoying. If that fails I have a small copse about 100yds away. That always draws a few birds. There's not been many about as yet, I'm hoping everything is a bit further on and the pigeons are flat out.the land we shoot is to far away to keep a proper eye on, so its pot luck if we get are timing right. I'm sat in my digger now and there's pigeons all over the site!

ezi bez
On peas or rape tmoz depends wich are getting the most hammer. Cookie69
Had a look at one of my perms yesterday evening. The combine had been moved from under cover and the farmer was spraying the barley. Must be getting close? Have another look later
rich1985
Was looking forward to having some stubble to go have a look on but due to all the rain last couple days that put a stop to all the planned combining! Strong northerly wind and heavy rain yesterday has laid a lot of spring barley flat! Just hope for some good weather next week, farmers all getting very twitchy this way, winter barley is very very fit in places and the rape is now just coming fit, think it could be a very quick short harvest this year with all the crops coming fit at the same time near enough! Could do with 4 weeks of hot dry weather now!
TDRsniper
Just been out on a recce for tomorrow, couple of hundred pigeons and not far off a thousand Corvids on the laid barley........battery charging, kit mustered, just got to make the pack lunch and meet the other two at 0800. All I need now is a bit of cloud, a good breeze, some suicidal birds and a miraculous overnight ability to hit the blooming things!?! Regards........ motty
I should be out somewhere tomorrow. A hell of a lot of barley has gone down in the last couple of days, so i'll check that. Other than that, I've only got one barley stubble to go at and no rape stubbles due to the rain.

aga man
I hope to be out on sunday but after a reccy tonight i don't know where to start. pigeons very active dropping into standing wheat and rape. Still a few on the barley but seems the pigeons are wanting the rape. Roll on the harvesting.
