Davyo
Out last night on the rabbits and the rimmy started to intermittently not eject the spent round case.Gave it a good clean today bolt seems in order just wondering if it was a bit of crud or something underlying.any advise please CZ .22 lr varmint
bicykillgaz
Is the little claw worn? I assume it's called an ejector claw, my old man had it where he couldn't eject live rounds. I can't remember all the details but it was down to the claw, replaced it and never looked back.
welshwarrior
2 claws 1 the ejector claw the other CZ call a holder claw. If the edge is worn on either they will not eject properly. Ones a point the other an arrow head, try stoning off an burrs but often easiest to replace them cheap enough job.

Kalahari
Try a different brand in case you have a batch that is on the small side of the tolerances. May not need to spend any money at all. David
Scully
Only time I ever had any ejection problems with mine was failure to eject a live round; no problem with spent cases. Close inspection showed a thin line of crud (lube?) around chamber mouth. Not had any problems since I now stick to Winchester subs.
casts_by_fly
and if you haven't already, give the chamber a good cleaning. If the chamber is dirty, it will add friction to the cases and make them harder to extract. Not sure if your problem is extraction or the ejection after extraction, but since you have it apart you might as well run a copper brush through the chamber. thanks rick

Scully
i have started to have the issues of it not pulling out a live round i have to shoot it then eject ? This was exactly the problem I was having. As above, it turned out to be crud around the chamber mouth.

Dekers
The bolt/extractors and chamber of rifles are neglected too often when cleaning. Start by giving the whole area a thorough clean, crud always builds up around the claws and the chamber area they sit in. That will probably do the job, if not move on to replace claws as suggested! samboy
In the last couple of weeks iv'e had a few cases get stuck so i made a little hook out of a thin welding rod to get them out. I have just took the bolt out and gave it a good clean plus the barrel. If i need to change a claw how easy or hard is it to do or is it a gunsmiths job ?. Thanks all. arjimlad
I used to get this, but I find keeping the bolt claw clean, and cleaning the chamber and the little recesses which the claws sit in with a pipe cleaner sorts it. Only needed every 1000 shots or so, mind.

samboy
Gave my bolt a bit of a clean up and it seemed better but then the cases started getting stuck again so i took the bolt to my rfd and he checked the claws and said there was no wear. He squirted some Tetra stuff on the claws then got a tooth brush and got some crud out so i will put a few rounds through and see what happens. If the problem persists i will strip the bolt down as ive seen on the link. But according to my rfd it should be ok now. It seemed to be a build up of crud which i never got out.
