Paul taylor
Great shooting and vid. Interesting to see the disturbance to the grass as the round travels to the target👍

Dougy
Must say the first was a bit twitchy, but it happens with neck / head shots. He has not been active for while, not on pw anyway.
fenboy
Its not a .17 HMR, it's a .17 Remington (Centrefire) When I saw the title of the post I thought some one was talking ******** if they said they were shooting out to 435 yards with a HMR
Zapp
Interesting to see the disturbance to the grass as the round travels to the target That isnt the grass moving, it's air turbulence around the bullet.

Kes
The drop is 40" and the transit time of the bullet close to 3/4 second. Its a kind of jumpy magpie and the shot does seem to come from the left and at a different angle to that which appears to be the case from the windback view. Certainly the camera position is well in front of the shooter and to his right. Its a hell of a shot to pull off 3 times when a magpies neck is maybe 7/8 mm - good scope I must say. I couldnt even think of coming close.

You seem to be trying to make a argument that he is telling porkies ?
Hamster
I'm sorry but 3 for 3 would be impressive at 100 yards let alone over 400 B) quite simply because you have to anticipate the birds pause to take the shot. Brilliant.

You seem to be trying to make a argument that he is telling porkies ? No - no argument, but those shots for anyone else would be virtually impossible. I have shot dead foxes at 200 yds plus off sticks and know my own limitations, even with a 16 mag scope - one such shot is close to impossible for me at 400+ yds, 3 sequentially at live quarry of that size would be a gift from the gods. Dougy
I am at work and unable to link to some previous posts on long-ish range shooting, but they were taken out to a maximum of 627 yards. The target was a 5inch steel plate, hits were 3 out of 3 not amazing by some standards but a 5inch target at that range is quite tiny. When the steel plate was inspected for damage the 3 shots were measured, the group size was just a tad of a testy over 2.5 inches. That was done by a complete novice who had only had the rifle about 3 months, that someone was me . So looking at the experience that Si-Bore has against my 3 months with a new rifle and I am sure he is more than capable. That,s what floats his boat, and I am getting to see why as my shooting improves
