He's a bloody good shot I didn't even see him pull the .22 pistol and shoot that pigeon towards the end of the clip, but it went down in a cloud of feathers. I really enjoy my shooting and have to admit to wondering recently as to whether .22 rim fire pistol existed, and if it it did what for!! off to google now and enlighten myself.

i think we need a better spokesman.any one who talks with his hands like a gangster rapper homey around 3.10 mins in and don't realise the ft lbs difference from air to 22 is in the wrong job.

You're right, he should've stood there like an automaton , arms down, eyes front, that would've made it a MUCH better video

They're never going to repeal this one. May as well forget it. The general trend seems to be more legislative restrictions, hoops and obstacles to any form of ownership.

Not a snowballs chance in hell....sorry the overall move is inexorably towards no public ownership of firearms/shotguns, just look at the creeping requirements being slowly introduced into obtaining and renewing certificates......

So you're just going to accept it and roll over on the next ban too (which looks like it will be lead shot - affecting the groups who generally didn't give a stuff about the S/A rifle and pistol shooters, i wonder who they'll be asking for support :hmm::rolleyes: ).

Even if you don't want to shoot .22 pistols and think they'll never be made Section 1 again, signing this petition takes literally 2 mins and then a click on a link in an email to confirm your 'signature'. Can you really not muster that level of 'effort' for fellow shooters?? :friends:

Have to agree, if we roll over and just 'accept' that it will never happen and that we have no rights to challenge at least then how long before that noose tightens around other forms of shooting? It's a sport we all enjoy, it might not be your particular field sure, but it's a part of the overall picture. I've signed, knowing full well that it has probably been in vain but I signed anyway. To not act just makes it easier for the nay-sayers.

There ought to be a pistol petition to sign on the entrance to the shooting show with a huge sign above it so nobody misses it.maybe a few of the sellers inside could have a sheet or two on their stalls too.something simple that takes 5 seconds just fire your name and postcode or something in a box and your done.youd get loads of signatures or id like to think so anyway!

Olympic and Paralympic Games in London will continue for squad members in preparation for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and the 2016 Olympic and Paralympics Games in Rio.

That's big of them what about others that want to own and shoot handguns. Why a petition for .22 just better allowing any calibre. signed it won't do any harm.

It has nothing to do with "effort" old chap, just the futility of time wasting on a lost cause. If you look back over the recent past, you will notice the slow but inexorable inclusion of extra requirements for the issue of tickets, the inclusion of further hoops to jump through. Some of these are not H.O. requirements, but in the hope of easing the issue or renewal and not rocking the boat, we comply. Can you honestly say, hand on heart, that given the modern day situation regarding this county's security, that there will be any hope at all of achieving the hoped for goal of .22 pistol hopefuls?

Regardless of what we say of do, I believe the days of public gun ownership are numbered....let us enjoy what we have whilst we still have it..... :|

With the utmost respect longspoon, but wouldn't it have been quicker to sign the petition, than type the above. I can see your point, but a bit of shouting now and again might at the very least delay, just what you believe will happen to shooting in general, regards F.

You were and still are allowed handguns in this part of the UK, and the security situation hasn't been great here over the last 30 years or so. The bad security situation here was seen as a good reason for more civilians to be armed not as a reason to tighten up the firearms controls. :hmm:
