Who said people aren't bothered? Many people care that 12% of the population are apparently so unhappy with the current political situation in this country that they are prepared to vote for a snake oil salesman because he sounds a bit different to the rest if them and promises them easy fix solutions to the UK's problems. I care because I feel people are being hoodwinked (by all sides) and blind faith in NF is just as loathesome to me as blind faith in any other political party.

KW, your open mind doesn't seem to come across in your posts, I hope I'm wrong and you are able to look at the good and bad sides of all the political parties, not just the bad parts of the conservatives and the good parts of UKIP.

I am in Tenerife at the moment and taking the opportunity to watch flamenco dancing on spanish TV rather than watch the debates.

And for what it's worth Tenerife = **** hole. I am in one of the best hotels on the island and it is a only fraction above chav city.

Only went once when at Sony and we used to take all our buyers away. Was due to be Dohar i think and was changed at short notice due to local rumblings.

Stayed at the Del Duqe?? i think, nice hotel but yes....... The strip and Linnekers? should have leveled the lot.

Gran Hotel Bahia Del Duque. That's where we are staying. The only good thing is that I am avoiding a lot of the election coverage. I am getting all I need from PW.

I don't think people are hoodwinked one bit. Our country is fragmented in its politics sadly and the main parties are to blame. The SNP and UKIP may not have risen if Labour and Conservatives had not tried to be all things to all men. Bliar moved Labour to the middle as did Camoron with the Tories in hope of securing three terms like his role model Blair.

I view SNP and UKIP as the natural home of die hard Scottish Labour and Tory voters and both would fade if Lab & Cons concentrated on their core votes for a change.

Picking the good and bad parts of each party will get us nowhere because under our electoral system and current diverse political views we would (and probably will) end up with perpetual coalition.

I'm prepared to vote for UKIP purely to shake up the complacent ###s who believe they can hoodwink the British public. I am under no delusion that UKIP are any better or worse than the rest

A protest vote is something else, that has a purpose and can have a political effect (incidentally NF goes to greap pains to tell all and sundry that they are not a protest party). My biggest bugbear with UKIP, and the thing that grates most, is the way that many kippers see NF as being so different from other politician. He has been a politician for a long while, he is good at rhetoric and is a forceful and charismatic, media savvy leader that is very much a politician of the most traditional kind. He has found a voice that resonates with some, maybe many, but he is just as trustworthy and honest as Cameron, Blair, Sturgeon, Clegg or any other party leader.

I've had enough of the politics in this country and am purely voting UKIP as a protest vote, the parties need some contrast, but right now the main parties offer nothing but stale minor differences of which I see no real beneficial change for us.

I'm voting for the guy who, after a **** day at work, manages to get to the range, shoots 5/10, then on the way home in the rain can change a punctured tyre without the use of a plastic card from his wallet, get home and hug his kids, do the washing up, address his wife in a civil manner over the debts, change the fuse on the Hoover and not bitch about any of it. Then get up and do it again. Unfortunately, I can't see any of the current political muppets running being able to tell the difference between **** and wet clay at the moment. I'm keen on how the politically state of Britain stands at this time, but I'm lost on this bunch. All I know is that our next prime minister will be a a white man, approx fifty five years old, average build, good suit( he won't buy it), highly educated, used to/ still does run/own a multi million pound business, has many contemporaries his own age and status, has major links in banking/unions, won't be seen to drive and will be in terrible physical shape in 5 years time.
