Archie-fox
Yea avoid the local one!!!!! If you fancy a drive try Malmo guns in Lancaster, or braithwaits just outside of Stockport are always worth a look..
Gordon R
On the M6 south, you will pass Malmo - about 1.5 mile from junction 32. It is simply the best gunshop I have ever dealt with. Plenty of stock, very good prices and you can try guns out on the land at the rear. Browning 425 clay hunter
Simply firearms in oldham, I only found out about it before Xmas but really friendly guy and good stock. Near oldham town centre. ATB
Gareth82
Ab braithwaites in cheadle is a good shout in stockport ( cheadle) although not the biggest selection, avoid cheshire gun rooms in stockport or as said malmo is worth a visit. Dead-Eyed Duck
McAvoys is good, but the shop is always very busy - which is a good recommendation. Branthwaites very pleasant. The gunshop at Stockport - very, very mixed. It's as though you are doing them a favour.
scobydog
Branthwaites is good I use it a lot and being just round the corner is very convenient, quite a small area, 3 rooms with a reasonable selection of guns for the space, Arthur who owns it is a very pleasant chap and he does shoot , Malmo on the way down is also a great place to visit as mentioned earlier. Scully
It's a long time since I've been in McAvoys, considering how handy it is from the m'way. I rate Malmo's highly, and Ian at Lakeland Guns even higher, though it's a bit of a detour to Workington from the M6, but well worth it. Gardners Guns is only a couple of miles from the M6 at Carlisle, on the Longtown turn off. Her always has plenty of guns in stock, which like Malmo, you can try, and he's on building a range also. Westley
Bamfords at Eccleston, near Chorley, always have a reasonable stock of guns at the right price, nice people to deal with and an excellent website. You can visit Bamfords, having checked the website and know ALL of the guns details before you go. Other gunshops take note !
matone
Second all of that about Bamfords, excellent people to deal with !
Les*1066
+1 for McAvoy. They have a good selection, and they seem to have quite a few "downstairs" too so it always pays to ask if you don't see something in the shop.

Gordon R
I stand corrected - I actually exited the M6 at that junction yesterday. I can't name a better shop than Malmo - full stop. Bamfords and McAvoy are both very, very good, but I don't rate Fawcetts.
