littlerob
i had a AL391 urika but got rid of it due to fit issues, Now not having a semi for about a year now got a urge for one, But not sure what to get as the urika is meant to be a good gun,But to me it was heavy and just didn't live up to my expectations. Yesterday I went in a gun shop shouldered about 9 different semi auto each one was far from perfect fit so, I'm now in two minds of what to buy as a off the shelf synthetic stock not going to suit so it be a case of persuasive with a gun, It will be mainly fed steel for duck geese and possible odd walk about budget is £800 maybe more but that would have to be a gun that fits in the lop . so here a list i looked at A300 outlander , armsan A612, Winchester sx3, Remington versermax, Franchi affinity, Baikal mp153, benelli premium plus, m2 essential. may even conssider a escort or something else any help

Since he seems to have fit issues with all of them on his list it leaves few options , perhaps a Hatsan Escort youth gun ?

They are but the problem he has been having is they are too long in the stock even with no spacers , hence why I suggested a youth model . fenboy
Your best bet then is to buy a wood stocked version and having it altered to suit , perhaps not ideal for the marsh but they managed with wood stocked guns for enough years and plenty still use them ! IEH
According to a number of US websites the A300 synthetic can be adjusted for length of pull between 13" and 14.5", according to which/whether spacers are fitted.

CharlesP
If it's any use I have just measured up my Outlander. It's 14 1/4" from trigger to centre of butt pad. With the pad off it's 13 3/4, so with a thin pad it may just be OK. This is the wood version, so chopping a bit off would not be a problem. I've had the gun since January, and I have put maybe two and a half thousand cartridges through it. I have not had a single problem with misfeeds or ejection. Most of those cartridges have been 75 mm 28 grams clay loads - Armusa, Sportsman Gun Centre Super Smokers, Olympic Blue, Superb, what have you. Some have been 24 gram, some 30 or 32. No problems whatsoever in use. It's an easier gun to clean than an AL391. I posted a bit of a review over on ShootingUK. It cycles in the blink of an eye, no sensation of springy things working, and it seems to just soak up recoil. It's a very smooth shooting gun. My next door neighbour bought an Armsan at roughly the same time. He got a new one after a truly dreadful failure rate (not ejecting, not cycling, bolt not closing) and his second one is behaving badly now. Personally I would avoid the cheap Turkish autos. sportsbob
I like the majority of Armsan A612 owners have had no trouble with the gun, don`t use low pressure cartridges which are designed for old side by sides and you will be ok. The LOP is 14 1/8 with the factory pad fitted and the plastic stock itself is 13 1/2 so sub 14 with an aftermarket 1/4 pad. I have put over 1000 through mine without issue . Have you read this http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/topic/160682-armsan-a612/ . All sorted for £400 new with a guarantee .
browning123
I own a Weatherby SA-08 and a Beretta Xplor a400 Light both in 12 gauge, both excellent shotguns, cycle anything and I've had no problems with either gun.

clanchief
I have one of these also : Beretta Xplor a400 Light, very short stock and wood so you could shorten it, the gun is circa 6lbs so not nice with heavy shells, their Xtreme 3,1/2" chambered versions can handle anything and their stocks are advertised at 14" and then use spacers, plenty of second hand versions around, to suit your pocket.
