Guest rimotu66
Eh? It's flown a number of times since. Correct and is now retired to Robin Hood airport which used to be RAF Finningly, her last flight was into Robin Hood on the 28th October. Such a shame that she will never fly again. Looking forward to the show though. http://www.vulcantothesky.org/ Edited November 25, 2015 by rimotu66
bruno22rf
What a shame to see her grounded after the immense pleasure she has given those lucky enough to see/hear her-if she was Bruce Forsyth or some other piece of useless titled lovely then I'm sure that some entertainment charity would support her. Another memory of the days when our nation had balls gone for good Edited November 25, 2015 by bruno22rf
TIGHTCHOKE
XH558 is unable to fly legally without the support of BAe Systems, Rolls Royce and Marshall's of Cambridge. All of them have given their time and monetary support since she returned to the air in 2007. Without their support the CAA will not allow her to fly and she cannot get insurance. Paul taylor
I'm lucky to have seen her quite a bit this last year as we have a caravan it flies over most weekends. Have program recorded to watch later.
keg
Brilliant programme, really enjoyed it. Only minor point was when it flew over "the Radar station called Menwith Hill" It's not a radar station! What a shame to see her grounded after the immense pleasure she has given those lucky enough to see/hear her-if she was Bruce Forsyth or some other piece of useless titled lovely then I'm sure that some entertainment charity would support her. Another memory of the days when our nation had balls gone for good It's parts that are the problem. Most of them are time limited and there simply are no more. It's over 30 years since the Blackbuck missions and they were on the way out then.
Laird Lugton
Brilliant programme, really enjoyed it. Only minor point was when it flew over "the Radar station called Menwith Hill" It's not a radar station! Just what do they do in those golf balls at Menwith Hill? Willxx
Just what do they do in those golf balls at Menwith Hill? Listen - to lots of things a la Mr Snowden! I went on site once and was warned that if I even asked my escort about them I'd be escorted off site and banned from returning, it had taken a week to arrange entry and nearly 2 hours to get through security to the point where an escort was allocated to me so I wasn't pushing it to see if they were joking!
