rjimmer
"Although customs rules were not broken, the Turkish driver did not have licences for the weapons, police said."...... So courier drivers now have to have gun licenses to transport guns? How about pilots of freight-carrying planes?

Wonderfully vague reporting though as presumably they could be talking about export licenses or something?
Vince Green
It sounds to me like it was a commercial shipment rather than a terrorist act which the wording of the article seems to imply.

Scully
A bit of a discrepancy in paperwork concerning a shipment of totally legitimate firearms heading for a totally legitimate outlet? Sensationalist reporting at it's very best.
Old farrier
And it should have said lorry load of sporting shotguns seized on way to proof house Due to paperwork error Not so sensational now 😕 All the best Of

39TDS
The report I read said they were of 12-51 and 12-52 calibre (or something like that) I understand the 12 bit but what's the second part of the number? Never heard of it before.

We're doomed basically if we cannot counter this sensationalist **** that it is spoon fed to a gullible general public on a daily basis. mossy835
said in the paper they were all pump actions.

Wasabi
The quality of reporting in that article is pathetic! First they're shotguns then rifles then shotguns. Then they show a franchi spas pump action which looks nothing like an spx!
Jaymo
If they are what I think then the 47 and 51 ( can't remember after reading it yesterday) Then they are prob what we have here in frogland and that is 18.5" and 20" barrel but to circumvent the laws on pump action shotguns with more than two in the mag, they all have rifled barrels for slug. So, in effect the above post is correct- they are rifle barrelled shotguns Was looking at one recently but as due to move back to the UK permanently soon and having to seek some of my more fav toys there is no point in buying one to then have to sell in s few months
