fortune
How can it be that he could go to prison for being in possession of airgun pellets and yet He can fill the place up with chainsaws? At close quaters a chainsaw would be a devastating weapon. If his property and farm was a wreck in 1999 and hasn't been lived in since then, what are the police hoping to find? Still they have a better chance with the aid of the helicopter. Perhaps they will find that part tin of Eley wasps in the boot of the car that he has been dossing out in somewhere in England. Dougy
They'll probably find an old rusty piece of steel tubing and say he was making one. That will be all sorted then.
Gordon R
Oh the police even admitted to some kind of mental hospital the other year as he was reporting theft of stuff from his farm they said it was all in his head in he arrested him under the metal health act he stayed in there for about 4months The post doesn't make sense. If you know him so well, perhaps you can shed some light on how the arrest / search originated. It is reported that the Police arrested him because he told a journalist that he had illegal weapons. If he doesn't want this type of attention, why does he seek it so much?
ordnance
The police are not going to be on hand when the time comes to defend himself from those who would attempt to maim or even kill him. He's been left little choice other than to persistently carry some means of potentially at least, beating off multiple attackers. His face is too well known to go anywhere and start a new life. And all because of scumbag thieves Doint murder someone then you woint have to worry about their friends coming after you.
STOTTO
Doint murder someone then you woint have to worry about their friends coming after you. If he doesn't want this type of attention, why does he seek it so much? Look an Airsoft Pistol (Realistic Imitation Firearm) is illegal if you are not a member of a registered Skirmish Site or re-enactment society, so a lump of convincingly shaped plastic is enough to get him locked up, it is illegal for him to own it, that is an illegal weapon, similarly the old gin and man traps you see hanging on pub walls are also illegal to use as weapons, but not for decoration, he could have a couple of those in there as decoration. A carving knife is an illegal weapon if you are carrying it without good reason in the street! Journalists are well known for baiting people until they get the answer they want and perhaps in order to get peace and quiet he gave them what they wanted. Too many unknowns... Doint murder someone then you woint have to worry about their friends coming after you. Perhaps the deceased should have though twice about commuting from the midlands in order to knock over a few easy targets in rural East Anglia then? I am sure that if the deceased and their accomplices had happened upon an unarmed Martin during the course of the robbery that they would have apologised, made restitution and left the scene without harming him in one way or another Edited January 1, 2016 by secretagentmole

Yes it does, if they had not attempted to burgle the farmhouse they would not have played catch the pellets!
ordnance
Yes it does, if they had not attempted to burgle the farmhouse they would not have played catch the pellets! True and if he had not mudered one with a illegally owned shotgun he would not have convicted of murder.
Livefast123
I think it's fair to say that actions have had concequences for those on both sides of this story.

fortune
Perhaps they pulled him in as a humanitarian gesture to give him a hot meal or two and give him a yearly hose down. Cant be much fun dossing down in a car at his age and looking over his shoulder to see if someone is going to torch it one night.
39TDS
I don't know the man, only know of him. I'd say he has had far too much unwarranted and unwanted attention both before and after the event. I feel sorry for him tbh
Gordon R
Strikes me as the complete opposite. He seems like an attention seeker of the first order.
HuskyRich
Strikes me as the complete opposite. He seems like an attention seeker of the first order. To be fair if he really does have Aspergers syndrome then it might not necessarily be the case that it is a conscious effort to be attention seeking or purposely say/do some of the odd things he does. It's often difficult for people with such conditions to integrate properly into society and are usually unable to process or act in social situations in a way that is commonly accepted to be 'normal' or otherwise tollerated by most people that don't have an understanding or compassion for people with mental illness. Gordon R
HuskyRich - you have a point, but when people say he is getting unwarranted attention - it makes me smile. It's cause and effect - a concept which seems to be beyond some.

rjimmer
So, if the police cannot find a weapon and it's made public, the riff-raff will no longer be scared of what might happen if they hassle him.

Gordon R
He has plenty of land to hide anything he wants. Does he have a weapon, as he claims, or is it bravado? Needle in a haystack springs to mind.
