TIGHTCHOKE
It is worth whatever someone will pay for it, there are numerous stories of large sums being paid for early prints and unusual numbers. I just keep them.

Lord Geordie
Thunder birds are go! Some Chinese chap bid a crazy amount when some chap "who had enough of the they are worth silly money" decided to list a one that was allegedly printed upside down! Of course he just flipped the image! But it shows! Some people are prepared to spend silly money! Just today I was robbed in a charity shop, having paid £3 for a 1930s rawlplug soldering iron in the original box
Will Poon
Woman in the village store (so must be true) was saying that some with the prefix AK47.... are worth more than face value. The lady in your village store is absolutely correct, the AK47 £5 polymer note was fetching over 10 times its face value. However that was about 4 weeks ago when there was a frenzied bidding wars on eBay. There worth just a fiver now..

loriusgarrulus
The old fivers would survive a trip through the washing machine and tumble dryer. Apparenty it wrecks the new plastic ones.
