Lloyd90
I'm having a case of dejavu I'm sure something very similar happened before , not sure if it was posted on here or not though. The gamekeeper in question also bred and sold Labrador pups and was selling a litter at the time.
TIGHTCHOKE
If you google the shoot address it brings up a recent (2015) planning application for an underground pipeline. May explain the tree felling/disturbance. Whilst none of us know all the facts, I can't help thinking this will be more a case of bad management than a desire to defraud. Unfortunate as it is that the op has lost money, this is what cancellation insurance is for. This litigious attitude does not sit well with me. It certainly wont encourage keepers on small shoots if they risk being sued into bankruptcy should things go belly up. I think the op needs to get down there and get the facts from the horses mouth. Oh well, just put the loss of £700 down to experience then.

That looks like it! Assuming it isn't the same shoot then ? Would there be possibility of similar outcome or not do you think ?
shoot and be safe
No two different shoots. My situation was baced in the Wrexham area. I would still pursue a claim. The more CCJ's he has against him, the harder it will be for him and if his debts are over a certain amount his options are limited. Good luck to the OP

wymberley
Don't know about these things so perhaps someone can correct me if wrong. The web site doesn't say who owns the land but it does say matey owns the shoot (which is well established with a good history). Irrespective of any leasing arrangements which may or may not be negotiated on a frequency basis (unless he also happens to own the rights outright), surely, owning the shoot title has to be worth a fair few bob and which is a saleable commodity. ChrisPCarter
Website gone for me, the site will be cached and show up for a while depending on your machine, ISP etc. Don't know about these things so perhaps someone can correct me if wrong. If you can still view the site and there's any contact information on there it might be handy to copy it down as it will soon be gone. zorba_the_greek
Have taken a screen shot of the website. Reluctant to go down there in person tbh looking for the Owners. Call me chicken.
Gordon R
He isn't answering text enquiries. Reluctant to go down there in person tbh looking for the Owners. Call me chicken. I think visiting is fraught with danger. You could get injured, you could injure him, Police could be called. So much to go wrong. Small claims court. shoot and be safe
I would also be reluctant to pay him a visit, you now have far more to loose than he if he says you were threatening towards him even if you are not. Not worth the risk visiting in my opinion.

Gordon R
Just got a reply by text:- Thanks for your enquiry. But I am afraid I have had to close the shoot down. Kind regards. Mick Mann.

LeadWasp
Hi All, I have today received an email from the organiser of the long established Kings Walk shoot in West Dean W.Sussex that the shoot has closed with immediate effect. Apparently it was through circumstances beyond his control. After paying for the peg 1 month ago (in full) i am expect little chance of getting any kind of refund. Also did not have the foresight to take out insurance on the day. I understand Guns on pegs have pulled the shoot from their list however i see the home page for the Kings Walk is still live. Really disappoint that its been handled like this and cant believe the organiser was unaware of the impending closure of the shoot yet still was happy to take peoples money in full. With our first child born only a few months ago this game shoot was the one and only i would be going on for the foreseeable future and a real treat that i was really looking forward to. Have any others that have booked on the 2016/2017 dates received a similar message? West Dean is just over the hill from me. I'll ask about and see what the rumour mill is saying. LeadWasp
It seems the man concerned is genuinely very ill. I'll PM the OP.

LeadWasp
It seems it was felled but no-one thinks that is the reason the shoot folded. Bit difficult to say more really - the bloke can't defend himself on here and I'm only going on what I've heard from a variety of sources who know the shoot etc. It's informed gossip really. Gordon R
I wish the man concerned a speedy recovery. No-one would wish poor health on him, but has he been straight with those who lost money?
