HDAV
It's a FIAS, sabatti (sp?) 575 is all the money really but if it fits and he likes it they are decent guns. Edited February 5, 2017 by HDAV
bluesj
A nice gun. The ejectors can be a bit weak, I would say 575 is a bit steep
steve d
Decent guns, not going to win any beauty contests though. £4-450 max for a minter i would say
HDAV
Several on GT for less at dealers https://www.guntrader.uk/guns/shotguns/browning/over-under/12-gauge/medalist-161026165150001 https://www.guntrader.uk/guns/shotguns/browning/over-under/12-gauge/medalist-161128171832073 Edited February 5, 2017 by HDAV
Westward
If it's a 12 then he should check the ejectors very, very closely for any signs of cracking. Around 50% of them suffered snapped ejectors and when they let go the spring and various other bits fly off into the brambles. p.s. They only cost £499 when new... Gordon R
The price is way too high - even for a dealer. Private sale - a lot less - about £200 less.
figgy
Just buy a real Browning for very little more money. Better gun and will last. Or better value a Miroku. Edited February 5, 2017 by figgy
welshwarrior
£400 if it's mint but it's an old gun with weak ejectors parts will be get hard to find.

gemini52
Its his first over and under so he can only afford something cheap,he has just been offered a lanber sporter for 400 quid, its supposed to be in really good nick,i thought the medalist was a bit over the top to,the guy who has the lanber said he can try it out next sunday,i will advise him to leave the medalist well alone, between the two i think the lanber may prove to be the better buy as long as it suits him. MITCHF
I've had theee, a 20 and 2 x 12's. Never had the ejectors fail. Decent gun for not a lot of money , had Lanber's as well, the Medalist was better. But as everyone has said £575 is too high. Good gun if you get the price down below £500 . But it needs to be mint at that money.
Westward
The Medallists are nicer to shoot than the average Lanber. They handle quite well but I'd reckon the Lanber would be more reliable and probably easier to get parts too. Medallist (Sabatti) ejectors aren't cheap to buy, even if the smith can find them, but they also need to be fitted, so it's a big-ish bill on a gun worth a few hundred. Twistedsanity
i have a second hand 20g medalist and also had a spanking new 12g silver pigeon, i hit infinatley more with the mealist that i ever did with the beretta
welshwarrior
Well I've shoot a fair few guns in my time every medalist 12 bore I've found to handle really poorly however the 20 bores where quite nice handling. Lanber of the right age later ones handled better and where more reliable.
