kody
Thinking of getting another .17 hmr had one before got rid and bought a .22 now pondering on another .17 hmr what shall I do
spandit
Get a decent one. I've a feeling the cheaper ones have lower tolerances and suffer more from ammo problems

lloydi73
I've had a CZ 17 HMR TH Varmint for over three years now, never had a misfire or ammo probles and it still shoots like a dream, I use it over my .22 everytine. so flat and easy to shoot.... mick miller
Ditch the average hmr and go for the outstanding hornet. Better in just about every way.
Walker570
Just done exactly that. I sold my old 17HMR to a friend as I also have a 17 Remington, thought having two was a bit much. HOWEVER, missed the HMR so much went out and purchased a new CZ455 with the 16 inch barrel and plastic stock a few weeks ago and it has already seen the demise of a fair few squirrels, rabbits crows and magpies. I'm a happy bunny again. I do rate CZ and the 455 is a nice little rifle and scary accurate. I'm shooting Hornady. To answer your question.... has to be done, definitely. ElvisThePelvis
I love mine (Tbolt) but wind is a challenge and I can't see how .22RF and 17 HMR are far enough apart to need both (in fact I'm putting in a variation for FAC air instead of 22 RF... figgy
If you have the application to use one great. But other fast cheap caliber can be better, and we know you like reloading.

Walker570
There is really no comparison between a 22RF and a 17HMR, different tools for different jobs.

Tedly I agree Tedly your targets are sometimes so far.........that I can't see what you're shooting at! Since watching you shooting your hmr, I have changed my opinion of the little round, and with practise and my new glasses I may get somewhere near to your shooting performance when I use my rifle!
