James1984
apologies if this is not the correct place to post but it seemed the most applicable, im looking for a skeet vest and im quite a big guy (xxl 50" chest) do you buy your skeet vests on the size (xl xxl etc) or inches? if its inches im looking at a 4 or even 5xl. thanks
saddler
It may be cheaper sourcing on USA sites. More a common item there in the several X L variety, probably a better range of makes to pick from as well.
wymberley
I don't know if a shooting vest would be classed as a skeet vest (probably not?), but John Norris has two of the right size in the former - not cheap though.
thebigH91
James, I can only suggest you get to a gun shop who also sells clothing and try them on as like most clothes for us 'larger' blokes (I'm 54" chest) an xxl from one maker is xxxl somewhere else. ive got 3 at the moment, 2 Beretta 1 sized as GB 50 and another as VL (!!!), my Fabarm vest is sized XXL but needs a zip extender to get it to fit. you might be lucky on-line, size wise, but its easier in store, and no I'm not associated with any shooting clothes firms ha ha

Gordon R
Sizes appear to mean little to manufacturers. One firm's XL is another's XXXL. If you are in the North West, I have a spare one - worn once - freebie. Edited May 2, 2017 by Gordon R

TaxiDriver
I find with lots of clothes that are sold based on chest size my problems are more apparent at belly level even with the correct chest sizing.
tweedledee
castellani do plenty big sizes.not that cheap though
figgy
I'm a 50" chest without clothes so usually get a 52" most xxxl will fit you like musto the musto xxxxl is a bit better on me but I can wear xxxl. Try them on though as they all fit different, some are tight on the arm holes others dig into the back of your neck with carts in pockets. Lord v
Browning xxl is very generous - I'm a 50 chest and mine is verging on too big, even with everything adjusted to be as tight as possible. I always try to go by the inches measurement. Picked my vest up for £30 in a sale.
postie
Like Lord v said browning are good sizes,I tried a Ceaser guerini vest on 3xl no chance.would need a 5 what I do is email asking pit to pit most will get back to you.or go to one of the big game fairs you can try on
James1984
Thanks for all the advice, im going to the northern shooting show this Saturday so hopefully will get myself sorted with one, I tried a few on in the local gun shop and was mortified when a xxl was 4" from zipping up. lksopener
Musto and browning tend to be generous, I think I've heard the top gun vest are generously sized as well. I'm normally a musto XL-XXL however the Italian vest like a castellini or beretta I'd probably need about a 6xl haha.
TaxiDriver
Bushwear do a number of different jackets/vests upto 60c or 4XL & 5XL
