I've just ordered one, are you on commission? lol Worst case it adds some tacticool to my semi and makes my mate even more ashamed to be seen with me.

No My Friend, I am not on commision.lol.

I just got one purely out interest,But, Can see the advantage of it..

I thought of all the people on here mainly newcomers to the sport who struggle to get a sight picture. I think its a great teaching tool..

If after a while they get the image in their head,They can if they wish remove it..

On the other hand,if people are useing 3 cartridges rate at pigeon, just maybe that rate will drop to 2/1 or even 1/1.. A very good saving, and cartridges are not geeting any cheaper are they..

Why did I read this thread? Now I've ordered one too.

Have an old Fabarm that doesn't fit at all, unlike the Luxano I normally shoot with, so interested to know how I shoot with this thing on it. Worst case I can slap it on my Escort PS with a pistol grip, side saddle and tacticool light and annoy the duffers at the local range.

I wonder if that could fix my wife's problem of lifting her head when shooting... this seems to act more or less as the alternative 'fiber optic' at the end of the barrels BUT also corrects the parallax of your eye on the rib and forces you to keep your head properly on the stock as you shoot.

My guess would be that once you've shot with that for a while, you won't need it anymore as you'll mount the gun properly? I'm ordering one anyway, I love gadgets :-)

I must apologise to you Buze, As I forgot to mention the benefits of that as well..

I did find you can DRAG THE SHOT,,Because you can see the DOT IN THE AIR,it can make you KEEP SWINGING..So yes IT IS GOOD FOR THAT PROBLEM,,Where as you LOSE The image after firing,You do NOT Do that after Firing the DOT is still STEADY IN THE AIR,,Forgot about that..Apologise for that..

I may have misunderstood, but i thought the benefit of this is that it 'masks' poor mounting? i.e. it doesnt matter if you dont keep your head properly on the stock as long as you can see the dot

If that is the case, i cant see it helping develop good gun mount ,as the purpose of it is that proper gun mount is no longer needed.

Maybe someone who has one can put me right if ive misunderstood

Good Question.

Put it this way,,,if the gun is mounted on a PATTERN PLATE,(Without the item on the gun).

You can then ADD The Item to the gun and centre it where you have shot..

So the item is only relevant after the shots have been taken without it..

So, is this bad mounting or corrective action as that which would be given to you by someone teaching you to correct it.???.

Now the thing being,That if the DOT IS CENTRED,,YES,Anybody else picking the gun up can use the Dot,

(Centre of impact). The centre will ALWAYS Remain the same.

Yes, I have used one,But there are people on here useing this method for longer than me.

My opinion on it,,,Damn Brilliant..

Over to You my friend.

I believe there are two pluses here. As 400racer asked does the device mask poor fit? Answer, yes. Also if this is the case how does this help with further development to the point that the device can be removed? The answer again is yes it can.

Here's my example. You have an inconsistent mount or your just not getting the right sight picture to knock the birds out of the sky. You fit this device and it doesn't matter where your head is the shot will go to wherever the dot is pointing. I think we all can agree on that. So you have used this for ages now and your a crack shot having shot over a 1000 birds without needing the second barrel. Now you remove the device and etched into your mind and your muscles is a sight picture and position you need to hold to connect with the bird. Yor originally ill fitting gun is now a fit. Some may argue that you have moulded you body to suit that gun. I argue that not everyone has a professional gun fit done so what do these people do? I have had both and my shooting has only improved since fitting the sight. I struggle with the sight picture.

I had a fibre optic easy hit sight on my gun when i bought it, but peeled it off and chucked it in the bin as it was just a complete hinderance to me, when the bead was in close proximity to the clay i'd lose hard focus on the clay as the fibre optic was so bright and end up being distracted or focussing on the bead.

I was dubious of this because of that but I suppose with where it's located 'not at the end of the barrels' and the fact you can see the clay in relation to the red dot it would help benefit some as is clear in this thread. I can definitely understand the sight picture aspect (trying to imagine it in my head) as you could build up a lead picture within the sight itself.

Would you say that lead on most shots is able to be pictured within the sight so both the clay and red dot are seen through the sight?

I'm definitely starting to understand leads more and doing increasingly better on sporting layouts but with this i imagine you can much more easily build a sight picture to work from knowing you hit it when the red dot was roughly in a certain position to the clay upon trigger pull?

Hi Evolution380,

What you have said is quite correct.

The easyhit on the end of the barrel, being bright is a distraction,no doubt..

This is Different in that it is in your eye line,,closer..

As I have said many times on this thread lol,,it is in the AIR.

Two objects travelling on the same LINE & SPEED..

It does not take your attention off the Target,,in fact it makes you Focus more on the Clay..

The only way to get your head thouroghly round this is to buy one or go some where and shoot with one..I BET,You walk away and BUY ONE...

GO ON,YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO..lol..

If I fitted one and missed even the first target the lads i shoot with would never let me hear the end of it, I could imagine now them only ever calling me Rambo thereafter

I can understand it 100% as an aid and to improve shooting but I'm enjoying my shooting at the moment and still having regular lessons so don't imagine my instructor would appreciate me randomly throwing this into the mix. Can't bring myself to put it on my o/u but i'll be getting a semi soon and for £15-20 will definitely grab one to try out on a bit of decoying for the craic.

Thanks for clearing it up, got my head around it :good:
