Clodhopper
Can anyone recomend a decent make/supplier of a can opener, all that i have had recently are not fit for purpose, from breaking after little use to not even having the ability to open a can. Look forward to any replies.

timmytree
The best tin opener I ever had was a cheapie from the Range, £1.99 and absolutely brilliant, easy to use, far better than other overpriced rubbish.
loriusgarrulus
http://www.wilko.com/kitchen-gadgets-and-utensils/wilko-geared-can-opener/invt/0232675 This one works fine. Had one for 2 years and at that price if it packs in you've had your moneys worth.

JohnfromUK
I have (and have had for years) a thing called a Magican. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Culinare-New-Improved-Magican-Opener/dp/B071VJD27T/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1512986674&sr=8-3&keywords=magican+can+opener Works a treat and I've had it for at least 10 years. Only used infrequently now as most cans seem to be ring pull, but used to get used a lot.

Starting to think its me not the can openers.
