PPP
Has anyone tried the online razor companies? Any suggestions whether they are any good?
Lord v
Cornerstone were ok, but honestly cant do better than my Merkur futur DE with blades at pennies a go.
Wing it
Got to agree on that. A friend of mine got me into using the saftey razors a lot cheaper in the long run. It's also a closer shave. A bit nerve racking till you get the hang of it and it's the Futur I use as well
Salop Matt
I also ditched cartridge razors and got myself a Edwin Jagger DE89 and a pack of blades (Astra Greens) with a tub of TOBS Sandlewood shaving cream. As stated above, a far better shave and far cheaper ! I swear by it and wouldnt leave my DE now. There was a good thread on shaving and the pro`s of a DE razor, worth a search

PPP
Interesting, thanks guys, do you need a brush and soap or will usual foam do it? Any suggestions on retailers?
Lloyd90
I tried a double edge, cut myself to bits! Always had sensitive skin when shaving anyway but Jesus it wasn’t for me!
haynes
I'e been using a de razor for about five years now and I would give you a thankyou for any disposable razor. I use an Edwin jagger. Look at the traditional shaving company loads of top quality stuff. Use a proper brush and cream. It makes you feel like a gentleman The smells are nice too. Not like the u15 football changing room. For about £40 you'l be all set to go. Money well spent

Any suggestions on retailers? You don't need a brush and soap....normal foam is fine. But once you have used one you won't go back. I prefer the hard soaps to the creams, but that's just me. Guys, is it worth going to an old fashioned barbers and buying from them? There a couple near work in London, or is it not worth getting their advice.. haynes
You don't have to shave your nose do you?....... I'm sure there called safety razors for a reason. Better than a cut throat. That still frightens me. A stranger that close to my throat with a blade. No Thank you

Agreed, you can keep straight razors thanks!
Lord v
It's a different technique to a cartridge razor. No pressure on the skin and make sure the skin is pulled tight. Use very hot water. If you miss a spot, re lather and have another pass. Don't be tempted to keep scraping at it. Take it slow the first few times.
