The tough bit is what sort of trade deal we might want to agree with whom when we can currently buy and sell most things now. The things that we dont import or are currently import restricted are restricted for a reason. Those reasons will be standards, public and market protection. The larger our market the stronger our negotiating hand. The UK market is not as large as the EU so we start with a weaker negotiating position.

If we want to do trade deals we have to give to receive. What are we prepared to give? Want standards will we be prepared to relax? What home markets will we afford less protection? The restrictions are there for our benefit and I would argue that they are not far away from the existing rules put in place by the EU. Some would argue that we take a much more open market position but if we compete on price what will that do to the living standards in the UK? This will be good for business owners or investors but for workers? Far better to compete on quality standards and these are easier to enforce in a larger block.

As for the rest of your post, that would be driven by standard business forces and is what happens all over the world, we also wouldn't have to pay £350 million a week (minus the rebate), like I said earlier, from a business perspective, it's a no brained, the remainiacs are the small minded little Englanders, too afraid to cut the apron strings.

No it's not a fact. We are not restricted in where we trade with a few exceptions. 

The standard business forces that you refer to are the issue that we will have to grapple with. What standards do you propose we relax? What markets do you want to open to competition? 

The whole £350m thing is a pile of pants. It does not exist, has never existed except as words on a bus and we will never see it.

What bit of what I said is not fact?

Any other trade deals we have are negotiated on our behalf by the EU, not us.

The figure we pay the EU after we get our rebate back is around 250million a week. So we will get that back.

The £350m is an invention its not real  It's not a problem its not a fact.  The rantings of a quitter that is starting to see some measure of reality.

Here is an excerpt from the above link

The EU is therefore represented by the EU Commission in all international trade negotiations and member states cannot negotiate their own trade deals with third countries. 

 

Don't let facts get in the way of your story though.

Agreed, but we cannot secure decent free trade, we have to pay tariffs due to one's imposed by the EU to prevent free market competition that out competes EU products which forces the prices we pay up for inferior products. All that and we have to pay £350 million a week for the privilege, it's maddness.

Trump is an autocrat and a hard nosed business man, and he's a bit dark and "flakey"......however, a politician he ain't!.......but with Brexit, politicians aint cutting it, so it maybe time for a "flakey" autocratic, hard nosed business man with a dark side to negotiate Brexit with the EU politician/negotiators?

Allotment? Labour Party? Phooey. These days allotments are a middle class must have. Arriving in a 4x4 is almost obligatory but you can squeak in with a crossover. It's clearly stated in the rules that tenancy cannot be granted to anyone who drives a Ford or a Hyundai or has ever eaten a Pot Noodle. Beards are just about acceptable, only on men of course, but anyone wearing a string vest will be escorted off the allotments and told to never come back.

You must grow asparagus, calabrese, romanesco broccoli, sweet peppers, aubergines, a minimum of 14 varieties of squash, borlotti beans, cavolo nero and at least 2 varieties of garlic otherwise no one will speak to you.
