Well - just a theory, but all it takes is for one person to say "this is just an establishment/Tory/police/media frame up against an ethnic minority representative of the working class people ........ and I won't go along with any guilty verdict" and there will be deadlock.  The judge may then direct a 'majority verdict" which normally needs to be a majority of at least 10/12 (he may direct that it must be 11/12 I believe).  This 'majority verdict' route was directed last time, but because one juror had been released (ill health?) the only option then was 10/11 - and apparently they couldn't agree on a verdict at that ratio - hence the retrial.

Last time - they had been unable to arrive at a verdict ......... and this time it is certainly looking as though it isn't easy.  I'm not 100% sure that in a retrial - majority verdicts are subject to the same rules.

It is a disgrace.

Her brother allegedly knew he was driving, her mother knew he was driving - the only person unaware of this was Fiona Onasanya, who happened to be in the passenger seat all along. Probably distracted by her phone, otherwise she would have realised that she was travelling past her friends' house for the second time in the same day.

What is taking the jury so long?

Rigged with Momentum members?

Honestly, what took the Jury so long, and second time round too?

It only needs one person who believes she is the victim of an 'establishment plot' against ethnic minorities/female MPs/left wingers/Corbyn supporters to argue it.  I'm not sure what has appeared in the hard left press/internet groups - but possibly they have been making claims that she has been framed by the establishment?  Just a thought - and I have no evidence - but seems plausible.  Then you get ne person who reads/believes/is told - on the jury - and .........

The Party moved exceptionally quickly, I am led to believe they already have a candidate to replace her!

From the BBC;

"BBC Radio Cambridgeshire political reporter Hannah Olsson".

"This will be a blow to the Labour Party - Fiona was one of their rising stars.

She was quickly promoted to the whip's office and said she had ambitions to be the first black Prime Minister, but it would seem her career with the Labour Party is now over.

The verdict does not necessarily mean there will be a by-election, but if she is sentenced to more than a year imprisonment, even if it is suspended, it will automatically trigger a by-election.

If it is less than a year that would trigger a recall petition which means if 10% of all her constituents sign a petition there would have to be a by-election.

If that did not happen, in theory she could continue sitting as an independent MP, but that seems unlikely."

Her recent statement!

"As many of you are already aware, due to widespread media coverage, I was found guilty of perverting the course of justice. Although I vigorously maintained my innocence, the jury has decided that I am guilty.

I campaigned for justice and for the interests of ordinary people throughout my entire working life to date, but it is this which has made both national and international press. The first jury was dismissed having failed to reach a decision last month but the second jury reached their conclusion within days.

Regardless of what you believe or suspect, the fact remains that I Fiona, sought to be the choice and voice of change - but this may now take a different path.

More than ever before I am asking that you commit time in prayer for my family.

In times like these the natural inclination of believers is to ask God why? I personally do not, because in my experience the answers are usually far above and beyond my reach. What I do know is that I am in good Biblical company along with Joseph, Moses, Daniel and his three Hebrew friends who were each found guilty by the courts of their day. While God did not save them from a guilty verdict he did save them in it and ensured that their greatest days of impact were on the other side of a guilty verdict. Of course this is equally true of Christ who was accused and convicted by the courts of his day and yet this was not his end but rather the beginning of the next chapter in his story.

Please pray that my family will find peace and strength in this perilous time through this guilty verdict".

Apparently she has no sense!

I do hope the Judge sees all of that when considering her sentence, she fails to show any remorse and has wasted an awful lot of taxpayers money by going to trial and retrial at the central criminal Court.

Im not sure if she means Jesus was driving, or shes been 'crucified' through our racist court system 😁

Labour have asked her to vacate her parliamentary seat, which she has refused to do.
If she quits then they can just put another party member in (unless the people of Peterborough petition for a by election)
If she doesnt leave or gets a big enough sentence, they have to have a by election by law, which they would be highly likely to lose back to the tories.

Corbyn had a bad day yesterday, and to his horror (and despite the attempts of the leftie press to say otherwise) the tories rallied round their PM.
He loses an MP and gets virtually proven a liar in front of the house , and country.
Bad times 🤣

I personally feel she is in need of help from our hard pressed NHS, more specifically the mental health department!

Guilty - found guilty - simples.

She has blamed widespread media coverage, but there was remarkably little, not to mention her ever changing story.

There is no remorse and she keeps digging a bigger hole.
