Chuka joins the Lib Dems.

Well it seems that Chuka is now a Lib Dem MP! It shows he is not in it for public service reasons, but he is a mercenary, a career politician, it's a job! Why else would he flit through various political party's until he found another home?

It's seems he has now morphed into a Lib Dem convert.......if he had a shred of integrity he would stand down and test whether his constituents wanted him/a Lib Dem MP in a by election!

No wonder most people despise politicians.

Hardly a surprise he's gone Lib Dem. Whilst the details of what he has done justifiably upsets some, if you look at the big picture then I believe he can be forgiven. As a person and a politician I like him a lot more than most of the rest.

Then one must ask why did he not originally join the Lib Dems? Rather than the Conservatives?

Is that a serious question?

Yes it is!

To use a football analogy, some people do not support their local team and instead, choose to support another team far from where they live, because they want to be associated with a winning team, that is mercenary!.........some people support a local team win, lose or draw, through thick and thin.....that is loyalty......something Umunna doesn't possess!

But it's not the same. Imagine joining a football club and then roll up for the first training session only to find they actually play cricket...

Labour gone left, Tories right, Change was about being centre, Lib Dems are more centre than Labour - not rocket science.

Lib Dems are not centre....they are political whores......they have cynically taken a political position purely to garner votes from disgruntled remainers!

They sit between Labour and Conservatives and as well as their remainer position this is one of the reasons they've done OK recently. I would imagine it's roughly equal thirds across the spectrum right now, the lefties have gone more left and the mild right have gone harder right. We need middle ground and it's the right, sorry correct, place for Chuka to be.

The Lib Dems are the traditional protest vote party.

IMO - they are doing so well this time because BOTH Labour and Tory's are in the doghouse with the electorate.

They befriend the disaffected and position themselves accordingly.

The European elections were effectviely a freebie, so it would be interesting in a GE to see if the voters actually put their money on them.

The lefties have gone a lot more left and for political/snowfake purposes the centre has been moved left the right is the same  but for the left to be safe they need to call it hard right to hide some of their movement.

I don't agree with you, it's all about perspective and I reckon suggesting right is the same is a bit distorted. The calls of each being extreme by the other is one of the few consistencies.

Chuka will do whats best for Chuka,  he would go extreme left OR right if he thought it would serve him.

The libs are the only people that will have him at the moment, as its plainly obvious he is self serving, he is with the right people now.
